There are large shoots following the Grand American, such as the Cardinal Classic, and PSSA's Summer Championships, both within a week of completion of the Grand, and both with declining attendance. In PSSA's case it's gone from a 5 day shoot to just 3 days and squadding just 6 banks. I'm thinking that if the new ATA target year began when the Grand ended, it might boost attendance at those shoots. Now they're trying ti entice shooters with nicer/better prizes. Instead of winning another pickle dish, shooting in a new target year might bring in more shooters. Remember friends, we're in the business of selling targets, when you get right down to it.

The ATA/WSRC is in competition with PA and OH. More targets sold in OH and PA means less targets needed for the US Open. Most decisions made by those cronies is to prop up that place.

Cool note: the Ohio and PA delegates in the last 20 years have known this. Skip and James now sitting on their hands. Don't bother calling James or Austin (OH). I think they just want their free K80 combo too.

Or better yet.....give them a call. Report back.

I don’t think it would make much of a difference- there aren’t that many people trying to “get their targets in” anymore- there are already plenty of shoots for that.
