Does any one sell empty 12 gauge shells by the pound instead of a piece? Is there a fair way to do it? Just thinking it would save a lot of time counting? And if any one knows the count per pound of AA - Nitros And sts's?
Put a box on a scale. Tare it out and then count however many hulls you’d like and record the weight. then in the future put that box back on the scale and throw hulls in it until you reach that weight. Scale did the counting for you
Either need a different scale or plan B- Sell them, flat rate, by the pail full -Bathroom scale just don't cut it .
If I saved hulls for any shooter who requested it I always put 100 of them in a plastic bag, got the the point I had so many of them and didn't want to be bothered with packing and shipping so I let them fly, gave the bagged ones away to make room in my garage ... Last time I gave them away, I had 7,000 Nitro's that filled a guys trunk on his Camaro and a few bags in the back seat ... I let the trap kids sell them to shooters if they want, I don't have room to store them ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Correct! I use a refrigerant scale to weigh my hulls. Much faster. Most major Brand tapered hulls Fall into the 18 lb per 1000 range.
56 shells to a pound on an accurate scale for AA and STS. Right at 9# for 500 with a few extra, Have sold many 1000's this way, even sold them by the 30 gal. barrel full. Fiber barrel. I use a ups shipping scale I acquired.
