WAL-MART VS. THE MORONS (NOT A JOKE)

I know lots of folks don't like Wal-Mart, but this is fascinating.

    This is spot-on.

PLEASE, READ THIS TO THE END. IT IS VERY INTERESTING!!!

    Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

    1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.

    2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

    3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March
17th) than Target sells all year.

    4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco

    K-Mart combined.

    5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private
    employer, and most speak English.

    6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

    7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and
keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

    8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought
    bankruptcy.

    9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

    10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are
Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

    11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur
at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

    12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.
You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground
work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart
    to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans… Democrats,
    Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature,
it is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

    a. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234
years to get it right and it is broke.

    b. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to
get it right and it is broke.

    c. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get
it right and it is broke.

    d. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it
right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to
"the poor" and they only want more.

    e. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44
years to get it right and they are broke.

    f. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get
it right and it is broke.

    g. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our
dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of
$24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get
it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our
throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED
WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end
up in the e-mails of some of our "duly elected' (they never read anything)
and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

    AND

I know what's wrong. We have lost our minds to "Political Correctness"
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone please tell me what is wrong with all the people that
    run this country!!!!!!

We're "broke" and can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless
etc. and the last months we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, and Turkey and now
Pakistan ( the previous home of bin Laden). literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do
    they get any breaks.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children
going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed medicines, and mentally ill
    without treatment, etc.

Imagine if the GOVERNMENT gave U. S. the same support they give to
    other countries. Sad isn't it?

*99% of the people receiving this message won't have the guts to forward this.

Walmart is a fascinating story to be true.
    But.....
Where are the statistics for the number of " Mom & Pop" businesses that no longer exist? Because of Walmart.
Or the number of business owners that had to close and go to work at Walmart.for a minimum wage job with no benefits? Because of Walmart.
Or the number of small towns that have dried up because Walmart opened in the town down the road?
Or the beat down of businesses that sell to Walmart?
Or the beat down of the people who are forced to take a minimum wage job at Walmart becausethere's no where else to go because Walmart aready ran everything else out of business?

Screw Walmart. Haven't been in one in almost 20 years and God- willing, won't ever be in another.
If Walmart is the only place that has it, I don't need it!

In the very near future you may eat your words if you want to eat at all, Super Wal Marts are and will be taking over the grocery industry due to out pricing the big grocers that people have depended on for years …. Many of the Mom's and Pops got to finally retire, many of the people working at Wal Mart would not find a job without Wal Mart for what ever reason … Can't imagine any town has dried up and blown away because Wal Mart was located in an other town, the majority of people make more than the minimum wages at Wal Mart and they promote from with in … To those of you who shop at Wal Mart, Thanks for your support, to those of you who do not we will be seeing you soon … Thanks for Your Support, with out all of you Wal Mart would not be the largest retailers in the WORLD, employing more people than any other Company and giving back to the Community, schools, etc … WPT … (YAC) …

Google it to see what Wal Mart contributes, then tell me how bad they are ...

While I sympathize with 101 the "Biggies", as WPT describes Ain't Going Away.
Small businesses have been failing for quite awhile.
I had a Mom & Pop business back in the early 70s- Mid 80s.
Got so I couldn't generate enough to keep up with ever increasing overhead, Insurance and other un- avoidable expenses.
Closed up and went to work for someone else. Don't miss those days whatsoever.

    Regards.....Gerald

Gerald, what was your business, if you don't mind me asking?
Did Walmart have anything to do with it?
About the only businesses where I grew up that weren't affected by Walmart were the businesses associated with farming or livestock.
And the plumbers, Carpenters and electrical contractors.
Luckily, the Walmart we had didn't sell gasoline or the quick shops would have suffered.
The lumberyard I worked at sold Glidden Paint. So did Walmart.
They sold it cheaper than we bought it. Didn't take long for us to quit selling paint.

    Screw Walmart!!!

    Win 101,

How many people did your lumberyard employ? What was the top hourly wage earned by a non-owner employee. What were the chances of upward mobility at the yard? How many vendors did your yard provide significant support to? Did your paint department buy 500 gallons of paint per order? Where did most of the employees at your lumberyard do their Christmas shopping? Where did they do their Black Friday shopping? Where did the minimum wage earners at the yard buy their groceries?

I rarely shop at Walmart because I shop at Costco.

But one thing I know, Walmart won't hire illegal immigrants.

Not sure how many were employed, as there were 27 yards in 27 towns in Missouri and Illinois.
Managers made an hourly wage and yearly bonus based on the sales of the yard they managed.
Don't know what the wage was.
Upward mobility was possible as management positions opened up through retirement.
As far as vendors there were many. Lumber, drywall, roofing, sheet metal, glass, hardware, tools, paint, windows, doors, millwork, cabinets, countertop, plumbing, electrical, paint, etc
As far as paint, it was purchased by the truckload. More than 500 gallon per order.
As far as Christmas shopping goes, how the f... Would I know. Anywhere they wanted to, I guess.
Black Friday wasn't invented when I worked there or at least it wasn't called that.
Our Walmart didn't sell groceries then so we bought groceries at the IGA or Kroger or whatever grocery store was available.

We didn't need Walmart then and don't need it now!

    Screw Walmart!!!!

    Win101,
That's what is nice about being in America, you can shop any place you like, go to any church or none if you choose but Wal Mart is not going away any time soon or in our life time for damn sure ... I see people who claim they will never under any circumstances shop at Wal Mart in or about the store when I go there many, way to many times than I would care to count ... I also shop at Cost Co, and Sam's for certain items and feel if Wal Mart, Cost Co, or Sam's don't have it, I don't need it ... The Super Wal Marts usually have the gas depots also and the prices cannot be beat or they would not need 3 or 4 loads dropped every week like they do at the one store I frequent ... Sam Walton started out as a Mom and Pop place and he followed his dream and probably never imagined his organization would be the Biggest retailer in the World as well as the biggest employer ... They will not miss you not being a customer but the day may come when you will be ... I NEVER say NEVER ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    Roger,
I don't care what Walmart thinks of me.
They don't care who I am or whether i shop there.
They have their clientele and they always will have.
    They don't need me.

20 some years ago my wife got me an in- line muzzleloader for Christmas.
A few weeks later I went to our local Bass pro shop to get bullets and Pyrodex pellets so i could go shoot the thing.
I was surprised at the price of the components.
Thought I would check at Walmart . I knew they had had the items I needed.
The Powerbelt bullets were $3.00 more at Walmart that BP for exactly the same thing.
    The pellets were $4.00 more.
Save money at Walmart? Bull $hit!

    Screw Walmart!!!!

    Win 101,

Not that I care, because I really don't, but I'm going to make a guess that each one of your lumber yards employs approximately 100 employees. At 100 employees at 27 stores, that's about roughly 2700 workers on the payroll. Let's see, that's your company providing income to 2700 employees while WalMart employs 1.6 million people. The vendors for WalMart provide worthwhile employment to millions of others. The cash flow benefit of the WalMart business model is actually what many people like to call the New Middle Class. Your lumber yard is starting to sound like a little bitty fishy in a little bitty pool.

    Win101,

So you shopped at Walmarts one time and now you feel that you overpaid, why did you buy the items there? I think you are full of the last word in your post. The Walton family has provided employment for many persons in this country and have been very successful in business. I'm sure 1.6 million people will not agree with you. I'm 100% sure you do not mean squat to them. Maybe you should go into competition with them and have lower prices on all of your wares. FAT CHANCE, I doubt if with your attitude you could ever run a business. Roger C.

    Roger,
I never said I bought the items, course I never said I didn't, either. Naturally, I didn't buy the items.
I shopped Walmart quite regularly until about 20 year ago. That was not the only instance where I was not treated fairly or that there were certain it's I could buy cheaper somewhere else. There were many.
An why would I want to go into business against Walmart? What a stupid statement.

Walmart does not provide the jobs because they want to.
They provide them because they have to.
That is not why they are in business.

    Screw Walmart!!!!!

Every one I know that shoots, buys their el cheepo shells (even premium shells are cheaper) at Walmart. Walmart is alive and well because they force their vendors to sell at lower prices because of volume purchases and long term contracts over very long periods of time. ERGO; The vendors know what's going to pay the light bill for months or years in the future. No different than IBM does to every vendor that sells electronic components to them. I know I was one of their vendors. Everything else sold by the vendors is sold at a higher margin to the little guys at a substantial profit (gravy). Walmart and IBM pass the saving on to you, the consumer (IBM, the PC). Walmart is no different than any other business, other than they sell in volume and take a smaller markup on each item sold. Just like Amazon is doing today, and I bet 90% or more of Americans are buying from both Walmart and Amazon. Of course, it's a free country and economy, if you want to keep the Mom & Pop down the street open, spend your money there. After all, it's your money, you determine the "bang for the buck."

The stupid statements I have seen have all been in you posts. You are a very bitter person, wake up Walmart does care about you even if you are against them. You have a bad attitude, about business places.

    Roger,

It's just about Thanksgiving Day and yours truly and his lovely bride spent time this afternoon making up our WalMart Thanksgiving Dinner shopping list. My Super Center is 2 miles away. I like everybody there and I've never had a bit of trouble with any of the "Sales Representatives." Not one has a bad attitude. The store is always clean. They'll fill your order and put it in you car for you. Believe me, that goes a long way with the older retirees here in Florida. The manager knows where everything in the store is and will help you find it if you want him to. They never run out of the things we need and the prices are always fair. They beat the heck out of Publix and Winn-Dixie, and they do it with a smile. I'm on a first name basis with the three different pharmacists in our pharmacy and they will do their very best to help me. I just bought us a new rice cooker the other day. Yep, it was $5.00 cheaper than E-bay for the exact same product.

What can I say? I'm grateful for WalMart. There are a lot of people in this world who don't have college degrees and really don't have the ability to pay for one. A cute little Hispanic girl in my store told me just the other day that she is taking one night course every quarter at our local college. She said she is thankful. One of these days she'll make it. She isn't bad mouthing WalMart.

Oh well, it's just about Thanksgiving. Before you know it, it will be Christmas. Please allow me to be the first to wish everyone here at the best web site in the world a Truly Happy Thanksgiving, a Joyous and Peaceful Christmas, and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

    All the best,

    The Phantom

Well I was one of those who didn't shop at WalMart till the Great Recession. I'm self employed and the Great Recession dam near wiped me out so I had to give up shopping at the fancy grocery stores and instead headed to Wally. I've recovered but I still shop at Wally. About once a year I'll stop at the old fancy grocery store and come out shaking my head because I can't believe the prices they are charging for identical food items I get at Wally for 1/3 to 1/2 less. Plus I can pick up a 4 pack of Wally 4 pack Federal shells, and also throw an oil filter and 6 quarts of oil for the truck into the cart while there.

So yeah I'm a Wally shopper, but saying that I have a rule - I NEVER GO INTO THE Place after 7AM, because when I have I think I've been transported into some 3rd world hell hole. 4 or 5 different foreign languages being used, kids running wild, dumb arse white kids wearing hoodie sweat shirts pulled around their heads when it is 95 degrees outside, etc... I do my shopping at Wally between 4:30 - 6:30 am when it is safe from the herd mentality.

But yeah I shop there. Got a love/hate relationship with the place. Love their prices and all the stuff I can get under one roof, but not a big fan of a lot of their customers. But I'm sure the other customers are saying that about me. LOL To them I'm the freak - I don't have any tats, no ring in my nose, no diamond stud in my tongue, I wear a button down collar Oxford shirt, etc.. I imagine some little kids points at me and says - "Mommy look at that man, no tattoos, no piercings, he is weird, and so different than the rest of us".
