Here it is October 4 and the AC is still running. I think the thing has been running for the last 6 months straight. September and October use to be my favorite months but now they are just as hot as July and August with less sunlight to get things done.
Elsie, Mine could run 12 months a year, and I would be very happy. If it is running, it is not snowing. Roger C.
Roger, we got the humidity to go with the heat here in Indiana. I might be able to hand one, but not both. September was wet as hell and now it's hot and humid in October. It's dark at 6:30 at night and still almost 90. I'm guessing it will be one hot autumn and then about mid Dec. turn cold. 90 in October seems hotter than a 100 in July. Same way 40 degrees in March seems colder than 25 degrees in January. What did Mark Twain say, I'll paraphrase - "everybody complains about the weather but nobody does anything about it"
Elsie, Isn't that what this thread is about, someone "doing something about the weather?" Or, are we just to watch the weather records broken by heat and other heat related events year after year after year and claim nothing is happening? Wouldn't want to believe 95% of all scientists would we? After all, those folks were educated in those pits of mind control called universities and such.
Jakeearoo, If you study the history of this planet, you would see that warming is not a rare occurrence here. neither is cooling. You are correct about their education back ground. your 95% is a little off. Roger C
enjoy it. weather in Denver is in the 40's dipping into the 30's and high 20's. summer to winter it seems.
Well it was 90 today, with plenty of humidity. Grass is still growing and needs to be mowed. I'm ready for the first frost - course then I'll be raking leaves instead of mowing grass.
Well went from using the AC to the furnace in 3 days. 92 one day to a high of 53 two days later. It seems like that was the same way in the spring only the opposite way - went from a fire in the wood burner to turning on the AC. I never got around to even putting screens on the windows last spring because it just went from fireplace weather to AC within a week.
Elsie, That old saying, be careful what you wish for, as you just my get it. With my luck if I wished for cold weather, my furnace would break down, and I would get the cold weather. Roger C.
Here it is last day of year - December 31 and temps in mid 60s, but of course it is raining with that December temp. I haven't even got my winter clothing out yet this year. Weird weather pattern we seem to be stuck in. Last Jan., Feb months were warm then it turned cold for March. Remember last year - 2018 when all those baseball games got snowed out early in year? This year September and October were hotter than July and August, and last year March and April were colder than Jan and Feb - now here it is last day of 2018 and temps in mid 60s. Anyway Happy New Year.
You betcha we do. Mine is running full steamAnything under 90 deg. is to cold for me. Roger C. ahead. We had a freeze warning last night.
Jan. 5, and I saw motorcyclists out riding and people in convertibles with their tops down today. I've got a load of wood sitting at backdoor and I haven't even built a fire this winter. I hope it does get cold enough so I can at least burn up that wood so I don't have to haul it back to the wood pile come May. Heck it doesn't even drop below freezing at night anymore. Makes one wonder why we stopped shooting registered trap around here in November??? Nice thing is - the the winter utility bills have been the lowest since I moved here in 1978. Now the AC bills have been sky high since I have to run it 9 months a year. LOL This is the warmest winter I've went through since 1982, and that was the winter I worked in Arizona. At one time I thought about moving to AZ, but now I don't have to as AZ has seemed to have moved here. LOL
