Up or down year for registered shooting?

What do you think? All the rhetoric and what? Can the ATA survive and have and up year. Guessing all those Cardinal folk think their venue will save the day. Or is the WSRC going to have it's first up year?

The ATA can survive on the daily fees collected by all of the clubs that host registered shoots, they are the bread and butter of the ATA and always have been without those clubs the ATA is dead in the water ... Cardinal Center is self supporting and obviously profitable, the WSRC on the other cannot break even so some one else has to pick up the tab or there will not be shoots there ... The State of Illinois is in dire straights with its budget so needed repairs to all of the States operated parks are not getting done ... Once it deteriorates to a point the WSRC won't be worth fixing and once its ghettoized the attendance will drop off even more than it has already ... They should put up some new signs at the WSRC , "No Waiting" , come as you are ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

I really thought when I joined this forum there would be more about trapshooting.
Seems like it's more about who's in the hospital or not and about the dysfunction of the ATA than about shooting trap.
Was expecting more about guns and loads and what glasses color and what to do when the guy next to me doesn't have s shell catcher or where to shoot when visiting whatever region.
Am I missing something?

 

You must be missing something, we are like a big happy family and concerned and care about each other ... If by chance there is something you want to know about guns, glasses, colors, shell catchers, and where to shoot, the ATA etc. just ask and you will get that information also ... The only stupid question is the one you do not ask, then you won't be missing anything like you are now ... WPT ... (YAC) ...


P.S. : There is a lot of information in the other post about the ATA and WSRC, if you read it ...(try reading it slow and see if that works for you )...

 

If the weather here in NW Ohio cooperates this weekend, I plan to help the numbers go up by shooting a registered at Moulton Gun Club. Hope to see everyone there! If we all get out and shoot at the smaller clubs they will have much better chance at staying around for us to enjoy in the future.

Not sure I have read a post on any thread that leads me to believe this is a " Big, Happy Family" to use your words.
Seems it's more of a bunch of disgruntled trapshooters that only complain about the ATA, the WSRC,
the State of Illinois and whatever else they can come up with to complain about.
I happen to like the WSRC. It's a neat place to shoot. It's a lot closer to my location than Vandalia. I've been to Vandalia a couple of times. I never got to shoot there but was able to see the HOF when it was there and stopped at the ATA office to get some targets taken off my account that I never shot when passing through on my way to a construction project I was running in Erie, PA.(shot a few practice targets at a beautiful little club south of Erie while up there)
If the ATA is so bad, why not run for your state delegate job and do something to fix it?
10 or 12 people complaining on an internet forum and then telling everyone else on the forum they are wrong because they disagree or " read slow" doesn't help your cause.

Sitting at a computer waiting to pounce on someone because they disagree or honestly have some input on an issue doesn't get anyone on your side. It's just like the protesters that block traffic during rush hour, it doesn't switch my thinking to your side, it just pisses me off.

Having you here and noting that you have not started a single positive thread on the health of the ATA shows me what a true hypocrite you are. I am guessing blinded by Kool aid. Or could it be you are another of those that regularly hang out with the 5 stooges from elsewhere. So what number are you?

101 and I thought you would counter by starting a positive thread about the ATA successes. But you have never done that. You only complain about other posts. You complain the members here have an opinion.

I was actually trying to help and do consider this to be one happy family for the most part with very helpful suggestions and plenty of great ideas and solutions to problems that might arise .... It does appear that you have a fart stuck for what ever reason and complain about people who have stated facts about the ATA, WSRC, to mention 2 of many things that could be beat to death, not to mention "Rose Colored Glasses " that get issued with the kool aid ... I do not know how long you have been a member of the ATA ( I would place a bet not long)or how much you have shot, don't matter, you are entitled to your opinion but please base it on facts or personal knowledge so you don't look like all you want to do is piss and moan about people who actually do have opinions based on facts and past practices over many accumulated years as well as experience ... There are probably shooters who have been members for longer than you have been alive based on some of your pissing and moaning and shot more targets than you ever will, in some cases missed more over the years than you will probably ever shoot at ... I have been told that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all, I am trying but its not one of my strong points ... Shoot where ever you please, as often as you want but keep your eyes and ears open, you might learn something (or NOT) ... God gave you two ears and 1 mouth, the reason being if you listen you will learn twice as much as if you keep on talking ... Now, be nice and post something (anything) worth while reading and we can all enjoy it ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I didn't read this thread before posting on the "Why I like the ATA" thread ..... guess someone was trying to start a "positive" thread .....

Most things that "survive" change directions after a wrong turn ..... Those that DO NOT "SURVIVE" continue in the WRONG DIRECTION until they are out of gas .....
