Anyone shooting the new Master Class handicap 1235fpf loads? What do you think about them. I bought 25 flats and I'm not so sure that I like them. What do you think?

I’ve only shot a few boxes but liked them.

someone else did shot testing and the masterclass shot tested “hard”

I wish I could find more of them near me to try further

I’ve shot a few flats of them and also liked them- a few of my sporting clays buddies also love them.

I shot these at a trap competition today and they definitely hit harder and crush targets. They are a little pricier than regular Federal and I got a bunch on sale during Black Friday.

Federal Master Class is a competent shell, but it has a specific personality that doesn't mesh with every shooter's feel and expectations. It's not junk, but it might not be your holy grail. Your hesitation is valid and shared by others. It's a shell that does well on paper (soft, clean, consistent) but can fall short in the intangible shootability factor that makes a shell click for a particular shooter.

    More A.I. BS

  7. I have shot them all winter. I like them. I think I've shot about 5-6 flats of them.

We won’t have to read any more of it from this guy.

They're a top gun hull with a podium wad and a slightly better grade of shot (although lower than STS/HOA). They really don't serve a purpose. If you want premium shells, esp if you can save and use/sell the hulls, just buy HOA or STS. The sole use for them is if you want something a little better than top guns and are pitching the hulls.

MC are $95.72, HOA & STS are $116.40 at CAC. At 6c/ea for the hulls, you get back $15 worth of hulls per flat, at an investment, of $20.68, so it costs you $5.68/flat more to get premium ammo/shot instead of mid level quality.

Here in the Mid West you can't even give hulls away much less get 6 cents for them.

I think it’s actually a modified version of the Podium wad. The shell itself reminds me of the old, white Federal Grand shells of years ago….a “promo” cartridge, sold at a “premium” price.

I love them. Sent some to Eyster to test with a barrel of mine he was working on and they were the best of 5 shells i sent. Yes i sent AA and Clever both 1 ounce and 1 1/8 ounce. The 8s were awesome in that specific barrel.

I was told directly by Federal they have the exact same shot as the HOA. In fact was told components are exact same except the hull is a throw away.

I was told the same exact, the only diff is the HOA are reloadable! I like the Master Class a lot, I just try to find specials or site discounts so I dont have to pay 13.99.
