Not a Trap gun but you you have to read this one.

I had my FFL for over 20 years so I've bought and sold a lot of guns but this is a first. I found an SKB sxs on a site that was dirt cheap. That runs the flag up right away. The seller is in GA. I checked on white pages and matched the name to an address and even a phone number.

Then I see the SAME gun, pics and description, right down to the small crack in the forearm, on another site, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY and this legit store wants pretty much what this model is worth. Even if the western store is a little high the GA. seller wants less than half what it's worth.

Something JDLR.

I emailed the GA. "owner" a few times and got a response right away. The last message I sent was the question on how the same gun pics and description could be in two different places at the same time.

Answer, "No that not Mine and Not sure Its same .I am a Gun collector and i will ship down to you My gun as soon as i receive Payment .How will you want us to Proceed ?Thanks"

Now it's starting to smell. HA!

I sent them a link to the western store ad. Can't wait to see if they respond. I know, buyer beware. Been buying, selling and trading since I was a kid and have never been burnt. This should be interesting.

When it falls thru I'll post the GA. sellers name and address so everyone can stay away from them.

This gets better and better. They ARE persistent. The last email to me. I xxxxx'd out the store name.

The gun is worth around $1700-$1800. I told them I would send them the money as soon as I talked to the legit store out west.

When they don't answer I just might tell them how I want them "to proceed".

I wouldn't think the "perp" doing this would be stupid enough to give their real name and address. All I got in the email was a name. The white pages site gave me the rest. I figured when it came time for me to mail the money order they would tell me to send it to a PO box. Like that would ever happen.

I just might have some fun with this one. I wonder how long they will keep contacting me asking where the money is when I don't send it.

Maybe I'll have some of the guys go on that site and contact them with an offer of more money.

If the gun is supposed to be in Georgia, tell him you have a friend in that area and will come and look at the gun.

I did that on a Tractor that was supposed to be in Portland Or. It all of a sudden was moved to NY.

 

Good idea. I also thought about telling them to send me some different pics. I know they only copied one of them from the store ad.

I get the feeling that this scam is bigger than just the one person communicating with me. From the wording in all the email responses I have a feeling someone has recruited people to use their own addresses and computers. The responses all end with the same line. As if they are copying it off a piece of paper.

I checked the second one she sent me and sure as shat, the address and phone number is on there. That would be just a special kind of stupid to put your true info on a scam. That is why I figured I would get a PO box address if I wanted to send the MO.

Didn't think of that, you are probably correct. I sent an email to the shop out west to let them know also.

This is going to be fun. I wonder how many times they will go to the western union desk to pick up their money

 

Well, I sent an email asking where to send the money order. They sent an address back near Homer GA. In about an hour they asked for the tracking number.

Then they asked again this afternoon. I figured they will ask again tomorrow.Hehehehehe

In the mean time I contacted Armlist and reported them.

By tomorrow afternoon it will be gone from the site.

They gave up. Arms list took it down as a scam. They claimed they did it because of "family commitments" HA!

They last message I sent told them that I turned them in to the ATF.

The sad thing is they had a women's drivers license. I found her on Facebook and the picture of her matched the license. They must have stolen it.

I got a call yesterday from a guy who was asking about a Perazzi I have listed for sale ... He asked if I would send him the gun and let him try it before he sent the money, I of course said sure no problem ... I told him to send a check/ money order and once I have cash in hand so I can try it I will send the gun and if he is not satisfied I will refund his money upon my getting the gun back in the same condition as when I sent it ... He accused me of not trusting him, (DUH) while we were talking I googled him to check and see if by chance this guy was legit, nothing showed ... I googled the address he gave me and it appears to be a vacant lot , this guy is obviously not the brightest bulb in the box but insisted he would send a check so we will see ... This will no doubt be interesting ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

All correspondence has ceased ... Guess he didn't want the gun ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
