Looking for a dedicated handicap (27 yrd.) gun and considering Alfermann and also came across a beautiful safe queen stainless PRO 3. Any thoughts between the two. I have shot Monoguns and Seitz and am generally familiar with lock speed and how these guns shoot differently. Also - are parts available for Alfermann and are PRO-3 trigger parts interchangeable with Monoguns? Any help appreciated.
My thought is: personal preference. Which one appeals to you more? It's not like one or the other is going to make a difference in you winning or not. Oh. Wait. I now understand why you posted this question. Please ignore my stupid response, it won't help you.
Alfermanns have a life-time warranty. Their triggers are actually a simple design so if for some reason a gunsmith had to make parts it would be straight forward. I've been shooting my single barrel since 2003 and haven't had any issues with it (did replace some springs last year, not sure if I had to), thats 56,000 singles and 42,000 handicap documented ATA targets.
ALF174, is dead on. There is nothing like an ALF. I got well over 100,000 through one of mine. Everything is 100% original. No new springs, firing pins etc. Just shoot them and clean them. You cannot wear one out. I owned a mono gun and cannot say the same for it. 174 and I also have the privilege of owning one of the ALF TWINS. Only 23 of them assembled and 21 were sold. The guys each kept one.
Personally I like the Mono Gun over a Pro 3, but either will do whatever you need a SBT gun to do. For anyone that says the Alf is better than a Ljutic, might be saying that then shoot an Alferman better, but mechanically, I think they are both great. Well over 100,000 rounds through my Ljutic and no issues, I don’t even clean mine very often.
