I lost train of thought on this post. What I meant to say is, When I joined in 1968 we got a temporary card. You had to shoot 1500 targets, 500 16s-500 Hdcp-500 Dbls , then you get a permanent card. Is this still the deal? Does the ATA still Issue a Temporary Card?
I think it should be 500 minimum per target year. Just my opinion. I still will not shoot in Illinois though. Anti gun states do not get my money.
Smokintom. Does your state own a 50 million dollar gun club..Mine does,it is called World Shooting Complex,Sparta Illinois. Can't be to anti gun.
I think its fine that each state decides its own penalty minimums. They need no help from the parent organization. I am OK with the minimums at the Grand as well and I'll be there in August.
I agree but it used to be 750 of each, why the odd 50? to get an extra 50 targets, we used to get a temporary card when you first joined the ATA, for a permanent card you needed 1500 targets, 500 of each discipline sgls-hdcp-dbls that was in 1968, don't know what happened to that requirement?
Yep, living in the past is not good for the soul. Neither is bitching about it. Today is the real world, either get on board or left behind.
There are three states in Illinois ....Cook county, the rest if the state and the Welfare state which is owned by the Democrats and the Unions.Ask me how I know??
To answer your question Gary is No, they get an annual membership card (blue) unless they pay the big bucks and go lifetime membership (gold) card. When they join at a club they can shoot right away and then use their receipt for their card until the ATA sends their respective card on the type of membership they paid for.
Thanks for the Info Ken, I was wondering what they were doing now. I think they want too many targets for non-penalty shooting
