If the Feds step in an make gun violence a Federal crime it may take some of the power away from liberal DA's. The gun used to kill a NYC cop & critically wound another was stolen from Baltimore, interstate possession of a stolen firearm is a Federal crime.

I still think it's ridiculous that suicides are counted as gun violence.

I agree that suicides being counted as gun violence is ridiculous ...it's the same old crap, they just don't get it...somebody needs to look at the court system and their judges...i would bet that you would find long arrest records of the shooters involved in these shootings with short sentences and lots of probation...yet guns are being blamed again...

What has the Federal Government done in the last year to want any sane person to give them any more power?

Why does everyone go along with the term “Gun Violence” How about that we call it what it really is Criminal Violence.
These are violent criminals that use weapons. The gun is not violent. The criminals are.
The politican mentality is to blame the gun and not the criminal. The newspaper headlines in Chicago report that guns are killing young people. How can that be? My gun only shoots when I pull the trigger.
Stop and think. The government is on a mission to ban our guns.Could it happen here? It happened in Australia.

All the violence in this country is tagged “Gun Violence” for a reason. We all know the liberals want us gun owners to give up our guns to make the country a safer place, and the also know that it would be next to imposable to repeal the second amendment. So in order to get that done they need more public support. In order to achieve their goal they promote no bail, no prison time and that they want to defund police. This promotes violence because the criminal knows nothing will happen to them. So as all of this increases the public support grows of the anti-gun mentality.

We do need prison reform and that is when a criminal goes to prison they are put on hard labor. These prisons need to have large rock boulders placed in the prison yards and the inmates given sledge hammers and make them make little rocks out of the large rock. They could also dig drainage ditches and other labor intensive jobs. This would change the atmosphere of a country club to an environment that is not good to be sent to. No more weight lifting rooms, and no more basketball courts, as the inmates would be too tired at the end of a 10 hour day to need any more activity.

We have all the laws on the books we need to reduce gun deaths. What we need are prosecutors and judges with a backbone to put them in jail. Repeat criminals are the main Bozos causing the problem. If they are in jail, they can't continue to stalk innocent people. The same with all of these thugs. Lock them away. If the problem is overcrowding prisons, BUILD MORE PRISONS. They are useless Pieces of crap. Flush them.

We have unprecedented freedoms in America and most of us deserve them. However there is a very small/minute percentage of the population undermining those freedoms. It does not matter what their background may be, where they grew up, socioeconomic status, education level, mental health condition etc. If they commit certain crimes, like mass shootings, drive by shootings, indiscriminate murder, there should be a special law with with mandatory procedures and sentencing in place.
If convicted of one of the above crimes the criminal should have one year to appeal the conviction and if found guilty on appeal they should be executed by firing squad with in ten (10) days. I know this seems radical and as a practical matter will never happen and our individual rights will be eroded away based on the actions of this minutely small number of individuals. This would not solve the problem it would serve as stop gap until we could get a better system/solution in place, Long term, education is the solution to the problem. An education that focuses on the basics, devoid of politics, and outside interference. Sadly to say, at this point, the current public school system is not the answer, it is too corrupt and infused with politics to be true to its mission.
    This is just my opinion,

We need more laws but there is no need to enforce the laws we have. Smart politicians used to write loop holes into the laws they put forward, now the dummies who are in office just ignore what they don’t like.
