The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is now underway. This is about him shooting three people, killing two, at a riot in Wisconsin.

The WI statute about minors being in possession of guns is terribly written and I bet will have to be re-written once this trial is over. I doubt he'll beat the possession and curfew violations, but those most likely won't land him any jail time due to him having no criminal record. If the judge agrees to dismiss the possession and curfew violations, then I see Kyle acquitted of everything. I really hope Kyle doesn't testify because he's a dumb kid that needs to just keep his mouth shut. Right now the fly in the ointment is Rosenbaum and this silver bullet IR drone footage that the prosecutors were bragging about in the motions hearing didn't show anything but Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum running in the same direction and neither looked like they were chasing one another.

 

Been watching the trial. I disagree with Maser. I think the kid is doing very well on the stand. Everything I have seen . Kid should walk !!

 

I think he used excessive force....not going to walk on this one...we'll see.

Ron. He has a gun pointed at his head. Excessive Force? What was he supposed to do let the other guy shoot first? I see it as self-defense. The guy beating him with the skate board was not defending himself.

 

I have only been watching some of the information on what happened.....It depends on who you listen to...the prosecution or the defense...it looks like Kyle was the aggressor and the victims were attempting to stop him..if that is a fact, the aggressor has no right to self defense...say a bank robber shoots someone attempting to stop him from robbing the bank ,he would have no claim to self defense...I think both sides of this case have merit..it will be interesting how it turns out...

 

I noticed that the 3 people shot were Rioters not victims.

Rittenhouse shot and injured Grosskreutz, who approached him shortly after Huber was shot, the criminal complaint alleged. Grosskreutz ducked to the ground when Huber was shot and took a step back, according to the complaint.
He put his hands in the air and then began to move toward Rittenhouse, who then fired one shot, hitting Grosskreutz in the arm, according to the complaint. Grosskreutz was holding a handgun but had his hands up, the complaint says.
Huber appeared to reach for Rittenhouse's gun with his hand while holding his skateboard in the other, the criminal complaint said. As Huber tried to grab the gun,he
Rittenhouse pointed it at his body and fired one round, according to the complaint. Huber was seen staggering away and then fell to the ground, the complaint said. He died from his gunshot wound.
Huber was "completely indescribable" and stood by his beliefs and convictions, Gittings said last year.
"He was an incredibly intelligent person, literally the smartest person I've ever met," Gittings said. "He knew exactly what was at risk for him chasing down somebody with a weapon."

 

Did you notice none of the rioters were shot in the back.Two of them returned to room temperature.
The mayor should have had more police and the governor should have called out the National Guard
to protect the citizens from these rioters and looters.
He was doing the job that law enforcement was paid to do,and didn't do.

 

Being the aggressor doesn't automatically disqualify you from self-defense if things go very bad. Say for instance I pull a knife on someone who then pulls out a gun on me. If I then put my knife away and retreat and the guy with the gun continues to engage me and then becomes the aggressor, then I get my rights to self-defense back if I fear for my life. A perfect example of a real life scenario was the Zimmerman trial. Zimmerman started off being the aggressor by engaging Martin first. Zimmerman very quickly then became the victim and Martin became the aggressor and Zimmerman was then able to legally defend himself with lethal force.

 

What if Rittenhouse is found guilty? Then what?

Shoots an unarmed man 4 times...first time through the hip and then 3 more times as he falls....killing him with a later shot...I would think that would be excessive force...we'll see what the jury thinks.?..

The documents said Rosenbaum was temporarily living with the boys’ parents after his mother had kicked him out for disobeying her rules about one month earlier. Over the course of his weeks-long stay, Rosenbaum molested the boys, showed them porn, and performed oral sex on them, among other offenses, the documents showed. He was sentenced to prison for roughly 15 years, and authorities believed at the time “his risk to recidivate being of great concern to the community” considering the victims’ gender and age.
If nothing else Rittenhouse did society a big favor,Rosenbaum' will never molest any other children again.Sometimes justice moves in mysterious ways.

 

Love the left wing media headline today! "Rittenhouse beats the gun charges due to states loop hole" --I thought the 16" barrel law was a federal definition between a rifle and a pistol ?? Wisconsin allows any 16 year old or over to carry a rifle .

The prosecutor was a "putz". He knew he had screwed up so bad that he even tried pointing a S & W MP 15 at the jury in the hopes they would fall for that BS about "assault rifles". He couldn't prove Kyle did anything wrong so he tried to scare them.

Oh, look it's one of those rifles that those white crazy right wing nuts use.

Looks like the jury wasn't as afraid of that AR as he hoped.
