Well, he was the only one intelligent enough to know trapshooting alone could no longer fund that facility. With total entries down around 35% in 10 years it needed another revenue producing option other than smoking the campers and raising target prices beyond shooters willingness to pay. Unfortunately, the trapshooter mentality got in the way of progress and he was sent packing. OK, maybe his salary was a bit high but the powers at the top agreed to pay it.
Curious...is there that big of a demand for sporting clays in Missouri? Missouri is expecting the ammo? Missouri is hoping to get what with sporting clays? SCTP? AIM? Grand? Hiring Skip is an added cost so someone must see a business plan. Or not.
This is the prelude to the grand making a permanant move to Missouri. A good manager and more trap fields. I hope they have to good sense to keep the EC away from the operation of the club or it to will be in the shit hole in a heart beat. ROGER C.
Just to follow up and at risk to making Brad think I am being mean spirited, I have to ask the obvious question. Is this a loss for Missouri? Whose gain?
paBob It would be nice if someone from Pa in the know, I guess that means not you, would fill us in on what the story is. Did Skip quit, get fired, is he going someplace else, is he coming back to Pa? What is the story or is there a story? One of the early posters on this thread should know.
Brad…. You know there are lots of personalities at the Cardinal Center. There are some big egos there when you include the Attorneys and Jack’s relatives. What job specifically are referring too? Tournament Director? Facilities manager? Or are you implying everything that Jake isn’t doing? I am not knocking Skip’s knowledge, but PA and Missouri are much different than the Cardinal Center. I don’t see Skip wanting to be in that crowd. If Skip took a job at the CC, I would wish him success.
