Hey BIG PAPA... I can go to the Grand if it’s in Missouri. (Won’t go if it’s in Sparta). Or I can go to the MIchigan State Shoot. If I had your money I could do both. What’s the chance Michigan won’t puss out and buckle to the Governor....or should I plan to go to Missouri? I heard you weren’t feeling good.
Hi Lima, u have not been beating on my head lately. Thought C19 might have caught up with u. I am feeling fine. No issues or C19. Only God can answer your Sparta and Michigan shoot questions. Sure hope we get to do some shooting anywhere this year. Last Year it was the virus, this year it's shells and reloading supplies.
Big Papa, I’ve recently talked with both the club manager at Mason and the Michigan State President. At this time they are planning a Spring Team Shoot, a State Shoot, being a site for the ATA Central Zone shoot, and a Fall Team Shoot. Things are getting better in Michigan with restaurants and bars open (at reduced capacity) and some schools open. Vaccinations are moving quickly. JB
Right now I think everyone is hoping we can get back to normal this year. But is looks interesting with the shell etc condition. Always a lot of fun to attend the shoots in Michigan.
That post shows the difference between Ohio and Michigan. Only a civil war would stop Ohioans from shooting. Michigan has the leadership of Hayes. There ya go. No shooting last year in Michigan. Govna’s orders. We didn’t care what the government said in Ohio. I can’t figure why Lima would consider putting Michigan the calendar.
Somewhere along the way we have to show the politicians we own them. They do what we tell them. That said thanks to username Turbine for the information.
Jim/Canton, For the record, the decision not to have shoots at Mason in 2020 was made by the Michigan Trap Shooting Association Board of Directors. Mr. Hayes has not been a Board member for more than a decade. He had no input whatsoever into the decision. Also please consider what you would do when the County Sheriff comes by and tells you that he will ticket every person on the grounds If more than 100 people are present. He followed that up in writing with a Cease and Desist letter signed by the County Prosecutor. That letter threatened misdemeanor charges and $500 fines for everyone on the grounds if more than 100 people were present. The sheriff’s office is quite close and he can hear shooting when he steps out of his office for a smoke. The Board believed that they would have great difficulty getting trap help once all the workers went home with tickets which carried a $500 fine. They also did not wish to subject fellow shooters or themselves to such a large penalty. In my view, they clearly made the right, but painful call.
Turbine... You are telling me Mr Hayes has no influence or leadership there? Really? Ohio was given threats too. The local prosecutor and health department even went before a judge. That would have been a lot of tickets to write. We control our politicians. We use our guns when we want to. They might have enough tickets for a Michigan shoot but not Ohio.
Jim/Canton: As Mr Hayes did not attend a Board meeting between 2013 and 2020, I believe that demonstrates very little to no influence on either day to day operations or important decision making such as canceling shoots. Are you aware that while he is an EC member, he hasn’t been Michigan’s Delegate for a couple years? (Yes, I find that rule weird but it’s easy for you to look up on the ATA website). While I want to shoot at Mason this year, I really enjoy shooting at the Cardinal Center and have missed only four shoots there since 2007. I was working a shoot at my home club those days.
harryone who asked you anything? Go back to sleep. JUST BECAUSE JOE MADE YOU A MODERATOR DON'T MEAN SHIT. Greentitian is a moderator on the dark side, are you a double dipper and on that commie site too? Are you greentitian? And another thing why in the hell if Hayes is ATA VP wouldn't he have anything to do with his Michigan shooters? I loved to shoot at Michigan but they sure as hell can't run their state anymore, or play football. Lima50 stay in Ohio. I'm with Canton/Jim on this one.
We can't run our state because it's controlled by a bunch of Liberal's in Wayne County. Just as Illinois suffers because of Chicago, we suffer from Detroit. Putting legalized Marijuana on the ballot didn't help either as it brought all the hop-head Liberal's out to vote. It's to bad states couldn't go to a electoral vote , same as our nation. At least that way one or two counties wouldn't control the whole state.
