Shooters from states surrounding the Cardinal Center are not unhappy with their ability to find great trapshooting tournaments. The only thing lacking that they had years ago is the tri-state that was held in Stuebenville. The Cardinal Center has 3 of the largest shoots. PA has a kick ass state tournament that rivals Ohio's. The CC is only going to have 1 major shoot in August. You can argue the name doesn't matter. Jack is not going to send his workers home so the ATA can bring their group in. The pride in the Cardinal Center is not owned by Jack. It is owned by the folks that enjoy shooting and working there. The ATA wont be running a shoot at the Cardinal. How do I know that? I know Jack!
At some point "Trapshooting" is going to have to get back to a friendly and welcoming sport. Like present day politics it has been a divide and pick sides too long. The ... "are not unhappy with their ability to find great trapshooting tournaments" ... is not always linked to availability.
I would say this site has done a great job at sticking to the issues and welcoming all views. Someone tell me why Jack would give the key to the cronies in Sparta at the expense of his crew.
The Cardinal Center can do without the ATA management types. Having them there wont make the place a more fun. They deserve Illinois.
The cost of holding a major ATA sponsored Tournament (the amount the ATA charges clubs to host a major tournament) is very high. Based on previous information it is doubtful that the Fishburns would consent to host such an ATA Tournament. The ATA would have to consent to some major concessions, in my opinion, before any consideration to hosting such a Tournament would have a chance of succeding.
I've heard this before, do you what this cost is? Is based on the number of shooters or does it have to do with the trophy package the ATA supplies?
It cost 14,500.00 to hold a satellite grand this includes the trophy package ,and the trophies are cheep in my opinion been the same package for two years .
Thanks Smoke! I've always heard it was expensive, now I'm wondering if that includes the program and the cost of mailing them?
I was told that the host club is responsible for the program and mailing, this could be wrong as this was from a member of a club hosting a Satellite Grand.
