I stopped at Cabelas WV route 70. I asked the guy at the counter what the trap type gun was. He handed the gun to me. It is the Winchester SXP. The gun had a rib similar to that of a 687 Beretta top single. The gun brought back memories to the day most anyone at Vandalia in the 1980's would have thought the gun was a prize. I liked the rib better than an 870. Price was less than $500. Does anyone out there have one of these?
Great gun for the money. Bought 2 compacts to use for teaching the kids at the club. Bought a normal one to give away at the end of our winter league. I did shoot the compact, a little small but shot great. Had no problems with reloads. Feed thru real smooth. Ed
I never shot a 1200. If you ever get the chance to shoot one of these give it a try. It might surprise you. I have a 12 year old at the club that really likes it and is shooting pretty good. High teens lower 20s. Nicer weather gets here and able to shoot a little more, he will be breaking 25s with it. ( I hope). Ed
