    1. For heated vests the key is getting a snug fit. They all work better if they are in contact with your body. If there is much space between the vest and and you then you will not get the full benefit of the heating elements. You may need to down-size to get a good fit..........I did. I've been very happy with my Hecusma Heated Vest for Men with Battery Pack 16000mAh 7.4V that I got off Amazon. It still works great after 3 years, and the battery will last a full day of shooting.
    2. Look for the highest mAh rating you can find. This will give you the longest use before needing a recharge.
    3. The other thing to look for in a heated vest is that you want the controls to be on the left side if you are a right handed shooter and visa-versa for leftys. I had a friend that bought a heated vest with the controls on the right side, and he would accidentally change the settings many times just shooting the gun, because the butt stock would hit the buttons.

@Ernest T Do you wear the vest under a jacket? Or is it your outer/inner layer, and your arms are just layered? I am looking for a thin solution, I see the Hecusma on Amazon.

I'm in the south, so I've never used the vest under a jacket. In fact, I tried it under my Wild Hare coat and it was way too hot. I'd say above 32 degrees I do just fine with just the vest over a tee and long sleeved shirt or maybe some long sleeved thermals and a long sleeved shirt depending on conditions. Below 32 degrees and/or lots of wind, and I go with my Wild Hare coat.

I have a milwaukee heated vest and sweatshirt. My sweatshirt is for work
And the vest is for everything else. I turn it on at 6am and turn off at 6pm when I get home
I just keep swapping batteries. Long sleeve tee shirt
Then heated sweatshirt then different top layers depending on how cold it is.
I live in eastern PA and hate the cold under 60°
