What happened to ACTIV SHOTSHELLS?

    activ is gone.
    people got tired of the rims cracking and not extracting.
    kent bought them out.

    I just got back from dove shooting in Argentina and they had Activ shells there. They were newer production and made in Argentina, I was surprised to see them, I know they have been gone here in the states for quit a while, so I don't know what the deal is??

    Too expensive to produce, more STS & AA, substantially more so than euro style w/ separate base wad.

    The extra complexity of design, tooling, and production more than outweighed the savings of not using a brass cap.

    The US tooling went to Argentina. Low volume, domestic sales only, and almost certainly cheaper to keep repairing that tooling and equipment than buy and produce new stuff.
