Being that trying to buy the powder you would prefer is almost impossible I experimented with some Unique powder in a 1 oz load seeing I had plenty of that and little of green dot or extra light .I used the lightest of the 1 1/8 loads showing 21 grams for AA hulls showing 1200 fps.On the norm going from 1 1/8 load to a 1 oz load you use a little more powder. loaded a few boxes with a 1 oz load with 21 grains unique AA hulls and shot a round of skeet and a round of trap .Recoil seemed about the same as factory 1oz loads and I saw no difference in breaks . Just wandering if anybody has tried this? I no playing with powder and making you own loads is not a good thing to do but some times you may have to improvise.
Why improvise? Were you bored? There are many powders & wads are available with published 1 oz loads.
I no there are plenty of powder for the 7/8 and 1 oz loads but trying to find those powder on the shelf has been next to impossible the last couple of years .
the whole industry is pushing to sell online so they can track where it goes....then come get you and your guns.... when the socialists want it, back.
