There were 290 shooters spread out over 9 events this week. The near equivalent of 2 meat shoots at Cloverdale in Ohio.

The reported big difference is a $300,000.00 delinquent electric bill hanging over the WSRC. That is just the electric.

290 shooters and 9 events means they were at least able to attract 32.22 different shooters per event. How did that help the electric bill? Hard to say. It was darn hot. Air conditioners running full blast for sure.

Not sure how much of the revenue went to the state. How much went to service the electric?

Some of us are hoping the WSRC will be around a little longer.

I think a lot of people are hoping it stays open a little longer or at least until they no longer get a crowd big enough to make it worth while to open the place ... If anyone with any common sense looks at the attendance records since they moved to Illinois it cannot give anyone a warm fuzzy feeling about the future ... The State can't (or won't ) pay the electric bills , the facility does not generate the amount of money claimed by the ATA, never has and never will in the local economy and or in the region ... The State of Illinois can tell the ATA better than they can figure on their best day what amount of money is generated in the local economy and region but not inflated or some Talking Head rambling on about 20/30 or more millions of dollars and they were just getting started ... The attendance has been PITIFUL at best and they have had people donate a lot of money to try and draw a crowd, didn't work and whats going to change that ...? Location, Location , and maybe the location is just wrong so they can pick it all up and move it , they might be surprised what can be generated if they get the hell out of the mess they are in with the State of Illinois, because it ain't going to happen there and hasn't for the past 11 years ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    Bill,
I think the location would have been over come eventually. The biggest problem is with management. The folks in charge do not seem to have a clue as to what it takes to manage a successful business. And the ATA is a very viable business. It is like the blind leading the blind, pathetic at best and down right pitiful at worst. To many self servers in charge, it reminds me of our sorry state of affairs in Washington DC. Roger C.
