I have been a subscriber of T&F for over 50 years including the annual average book. Always look forward to the monthly issue. I really enjoy the annual average book. I can spend many hours looking at the various facts and averages by state, who have been winners etc. One of the things I always enjoy is looking at the target attainment sections. Enjoy seeing folks I know or have shot with over the years listed in these sections. There are three sections. One for singles, one for handicap and one for doubles. In 1923 the ATA was incorporated and official records of the sport began. In 1944 special awards were inaugurated for shooters registering more than 25,000 16-yard targets. In 1989 the executive committee approved awarding target attainment pins for handicap and doubles starting at 25,000 targets. The executive committee must have felt these awards were in recognition of shooters who supported the ATA (in may cases, for many years) to reach the minimum requirements. Every month T&F publishes the new members of the "quarter million club". These are a total number of targets for all three disciplines. It takes a huge commitment from the shooter to reach this level. That being said, I have always thought there should be a " QUARTER MILLION CLUB" section printed in the average book. Same rules as the other section, but a list of the shooters who have attained this level. Just my thoughts. What's your thoughts and opinion?
Wasn’t Trap and Field the rag that tried publishing the doubled numbers from the grand? Didn’t they publish 6400 shooters instead of 3200? And after being caught by people on this forum they were forced to print a retraction? Yes, I remember T&F. I am sure this forum has more visits in a week than that rag in a year.
Trap & Field has been worthless for years. They need Betty and Joan Davis more than another award and ribbon in the ATA.
Brad, Do you remember when there was only 10 members on the All American team? first and second team. The trap teams have linked up with the skeet shooters. Now the ATA want to increase the trophy quality with an increase daily fee Does this mean BIGGER ribbons. as business men the EC are a bunch of looooosers, also the B.O.D. are a loser in training position.
