With the cold weather coming to the eastern US the next few days all the meteorologists are experiencing almost star status on their TV stations. They have all latched onto the "Polar Vortex" theory. They get to be first on the newscast with the big scare instead of last when it is the middle of summer and every day is the pretty much the same.

But in WV the cold weather is the perfect time to shoot.

It wasn't that many years ago the PA high singles leader shot at Brook County in January. He had 400 straight in one day sent in. It was only around 19 degrees but that is still pretty cold for shooting registered targets. If I was the club manager I would have framed those sheets and hung them on the club wall. 400 straight on a JANUARY day in WV. That's some shooting!! If it would have been colder he may have broken 600 straight.

Unfortunately the club "lost the score sheets" and the targets were deleted from this guys totals so you wont find that day on the Shooter Information page any longer but that shouldn't stop anyone from heading for WV.

Just more proof that those weather guys don't know what they are talking about.

Probably shot an additional 400 straight in Eastern PA the same day too. On fire that day.

I don't think he would have to had to go that far dawg. The club just over the border in SW PA was just as accommodating.

19 degrees is a heat wave my friend. This morning it was 27 below and that is actual temp not windchill that is getting cold. I choose to stay inside all I can today.

Ken --Shot Sunday in Argyle -- Got up to -2 -- Birds where so hard you would see a lot of orange paint dust but fewer brakes at the 27 -- Loading up Sixes for tonight -- That's is if I can get the truck started -- Got to love Wisconsin in the winter !!

rrisum I use to shoot in the winter at Sauk and Spring Green in years gone bye. Got old and possibly smarter so I don't do it any more. Well maybe a little.

Weather was so bad in Wisconsin -- we had to have turkeys for prizes to get shooters out for our monthly chicken shoot --- Was great learning curve shooting in a up to 55 mph cross wind --We all had fun -- that's what it is all about!!

When I shot yesterday it was 76 degrees, a few puffy clouds, and no wind to speak of. That's our winter on the Gulf Coast. Had a family down from Central Iowa shooting with us yesterday (Father, two Sons). The kids were shocked at the weather, wearing shorts and tee shirts.:);)
