Attended the opening ceremony last night. There are 31 states represented this year, the biggest yet. The new 10 year contract was officially announced last night to a rousing applause. They're going to have to make the staging area for the introductions bigger because there wasn't enough room in the designated area, and Ohio only had three teams in attendance of the nearly 15 that we have.
I hope Luke doesn't mind that copy and post his FB comments on the event. 2019 SCTP/SASP Nationals is over and was the largest Nationals ever held! SASP was officially the largest steel target and action shooting match ever hosted! On behalf of the Cardinal Shooting Center I would like to congratulate all of the athletes and coaches for helping to make this event very memorable to our staff!! Congratulations to all of the award and scholarship winners! You guys are all the future of our sport
A good weekend overall. One of our Varsity shooters ran the first 100 on Friday morning for his first ever 100 straight, then we had two shooters on Saturday each get their respective first 25; one, another of our Varsity shooters, and the other one a Intermediate Entry who only shot at his very first target ever in March. Had a few others hit that 24 target mark this year only to fall one short, so I look for big things for our Cardinal Center youth team in the coming years. So congrats to those three of our kids for meeting some goals this weekend, and congrats to our whole team in general for a great year. Again, if anybody knows any local youth (Morrow, Delaware, Marion, or Knox Counties) that want to try it out, we're always accepting shooters for our team. Jim Phillips Coach Cardinal Youth Shooters
I should explain. We would gladly take any youth that wants to shoot, but outside those counties that I mentioned there might be closer opportunities for them and their parents. The OSTA website has a section for SCTP that shows the location of the Ohio SCTP teams and their home club.
