Some roads at the CC are getting resurfaced and widened. The logging area has been cleared (bottom) to make room for more parking.

The above picture is looking down the road to the pistol berm and new Skeet and Trap overlay fields. Bank 12 is right of the picture. The view is towards the west.

Nice that some new gravel is being laid. Is any going in to improve some of the camping lots? Some of those are just sand and the campers just sink, especially in the 800's.

So do I. Whenever it rains, it becomes a mud pit, and the back of the lot by the tree line is a lake. I was there a couple of weeks ago to check on it and it still was. I was told that it was on the list for improvements by the staff in person. But it still hasn't happened. These pictures were taken since I was there last. That's why I'm asking.

You must be one of the lucky ones in the higher section. If you notice that area has a valley, and I got stuck right in the middle.

Perhaps you should consider you may not know everything before you accuse somebody of being full of crap.

Been there lately? Ever look at any other lots than your own? I have, which was why I asked to be moved. Last years Buckeye Classic was a mess. It rained a lot, and my lot was a mess. It was even raining Tuesday night when I pulled in to drop my camper. Since it has barely any gravel, mostly right by the driveway, my camper created ruts in the lot which were still there for the State shoot.

As I said, consider your knowledge of the situation before calling somebody out.

I enjoy coming to the CC, and Jack has done wonders for the shooting community. But there are still some places that could use some improvements. The pond looks great, and I look forward to all of the improvements to the grounds. I just hope a little bit could be put towards improving the camping areas that have been designated for it. Especially with all of the shooters that will be coming, some possibly for the first time.

The 900's get pretty muddy as well.

When it rains a lot the place gets muddy. No....say it aint so.

And James 344 says the place "is just sand." So the place that "is just sand" turns into mud when wet. Must be magic sand.

    Raising the bullshit flag.

I didn't say that the sand turns to mud. But, the entire lot isn't sand, and that which isn't gets bad when the water seems to flow to the lower areas. And I've been around the entire campground several times, and the 800's appears to get worse than others. Most of the other camping lots, as far as parking areas for campers, are gravel, with exception to the 900's as robb pointed out. Those areas are in the grassy areas behind the trap line. So last years Buckeye Classic was terrible for those lots. And the vendors had the same problems.

My lot is mostly sand, and when sand gets wet, it sticks to everything and gets inside the camper. Plus, it creates ruts, which makes an uneven surface more uneven, which in turn makes leveling the camper more of an issue than it usually is. Because the leveling blocks sink too.

If, when new gravel is being placed, some of the lots that do not have very much gravel could get some in the process, then that would be an improvement.

It's amazing, that when somebody makes a comment and asks a simple question, how so many others seem to be experts and have to let everybody else know it.
