There was the announcement by the ATA that they were no longer holding Illinois in default. Was that a blindside? The lease is good for us says the ATA. This a lease that we all believed the State did not want. So then where are the big announcements? Shouldn't the state and ATA be standing in front of the TV holding hands and singing love songs. Could it be the State is better off financially? Something isn't kosher. Just listening for another shoe to drop.
What good is a lease if neither party upholds it? One party should be held Accountable. Is the ATA Membership an accountable Party. I personally believe the membership is being short changed by all of the ATA Officers lack of Judgement and Accountability. What other Major Sporting Group would allow all this Inuendos? The NFL, MLB, & NASCAR all are better run Organizations w/Integrity. Yours in Sport Gary Bryant.................................Dr.longshot
There are serious doubts by many the State of Illinois will honor the original lease as it was written so some amendments will be forth coming to increase cost (revenue) and will be passed on to the ATA ... The State has the perfect excuse to not honor the lease because it has cost them a lot of money on an annual basis and they are already in trouble financially ... I agree that you would think they would be shouting from the highest mountains to let people know what is going on being transparent and all but they are only going to tell the members what they want them to know ... Would imagine it would have a less than favorable impact if they don't give people a heads up so they can make plans if they intend to ... To put a shoot on a schedule does not make it a for sure thing as we all witnessed last year with the shuttering of the facility with shoots on the schedule ... Time will tell, but the ATA won't that's a gimmie ... Can't wait to see the bill for this one Virgil ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
I would think that the ATA would force the IDNR to honor the lease until Lease runs out, It's not the Fault of the ATA that Illinois cannot pay it's bills. They both negotiated the Lease, did they not? GB...............................DLS
Doc, The ATA and IL agreed that the agreement(s) are voided if Illinois says they cannot afford the welfare for shooters program. Please read 13.4 . Under Fiscal Funding.....It specifically says end "without penalty."
The State of Illinois has the best legal council money can buy and you can bet they have their butt covered and then some ... The ATA on the other hand, well they have legal council ... The State will not honor the lease under the terms of the lease and have it cost them money so the burden of additional expenses will be passed on to who ever is involved ... The States credit rating is lower than "whale Poop" so for them to add to the deficit would be even more of a financial set back which is doubt full the Governor will accept and be party to from a career politicians standpoint , in the eyes of the Illinois voters ... There is no court in the land (Land of Lincoln) that would order the State to honor said lease under the existing terms knowing the end result ... Wait and see, its not going to be cheap and probably at a point where the cost would be recoverable once all is said and done ... Cost, Liability, responsibility are going to replace Tentative, Probable, possible, MOU once its all over ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
