Do you know how much the Executive Director makes a year? How much does he get in bonuses? I doubt more than 4 delegates know how he achieves a bonus.

Are there conflicts of interest in the bonus system? I am not saying there are. Tell us a delegate that knows.

Who has a copy of the contract?

Who signed off on the contract?

Who is permitted to see the contract?

You might be surprised at all the answers.

    I report. You decide.

What he makes might not be as important as how he earns it.

One thing for certain, the Board of Directors are providing real good oversight to insure that the Executive Director meets the organization's goals in order to receive bonuses and incentives.

Ask any Delegate to name the requirements the E.D. must successfully complete to be paid more than the established base pay. They can't tell you because they don't know.

But, what does the ATA tell the IRS and Illinois each and every year when they submit their their Form 990?

Ooopps! Did I just inform our Delegates that year after year they continue to fail to perform their duties?

Here's a lesson for each and every Board of Director -

    BOD DUTIES-2016, p.81.jpg

Has the organization provided a complete copy of the IRS Form 990 to all members of its governing body before filing the form?

Heck, Board of Directors haven't even seen an IRS Form 990 after the filing. Most don't know what it is anyway.

Another bit of information in hopes that a few of the Delegates we elect each year might have enough interest to do their duties on behalf of the organization and not the Executive Committee.

Unscrupulous dealing has been done because the ATA Board of Directors did not take their responsibilities seriously, and/or did not take time to educate themselves that it is they who have the control, the power of decision making for our A.T.A. (I'm thinking 2012 PULL LLC)

HB, You post should be published in the Trap and field book. Maybe the BOD would then see it. Roger C.
