I’ve looked at tha manual and can’t find what I’m looking for, the question is, What pulley is used on the motor? Our wobble trap has the pump with the Vickers pump and reservoir. The motor pulley split in half and I want to pick one up on the way to the club to save a trip. I think it’s 4” but I’m not 100% sure and I need to know the key way size. Any help is appreciated.
The pully is most likely available at Graingers. Can you look at the old one to see if any numbers are on it. If not take it to Graingers and have them compare it to one that they most likely have in stock. Hope this helps> Roger
Ok, will do. The old one split in half, it looks like the belt was too wide and was riding high in the v-notch and caused it to split. I’ll try and match it up. Thanks
If you have a choise get a one pc. cast pully, it sounds like the origional was a welded part. If the belt did not match the pully take it with you also. Check and see if the other pully that the belt runs on is wider. If so match the new pully with the width of the belt or replace the belt. Is there another machine around that you can look at? Roger C.
We have 3 others but they aren’t wobble machines, they all use the Vickers pump so I assume they are the same. I have a feeling we had a broken belt at some point and someone stuck the wrong width belt on it. I pulled the broken pulley off tonight, seized on the shaft. I’m going to go back tomorrow and look at the other pulley and get a belt that matches the pulleys and put anti seize on the shafts. Damp Trap houses cause more problems than bad targets!
There should be an adjustment on the pully. Set it so the belt is about 1/8 to level to the top of the out side diameter of the pully. Do not put exceive tension on the belt when adjusting the machine. Roger C.
