Jim Morris, 73, passed away on Monday. Mr. Morris was a regular contributor to the DDN when it came to the Ohio State Shoot and the Grand American. This was part of the DDN article announcing Mr. Morris's death: "Morris also was a regular at “The Grand,” and lamented the demise of the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s World Trapshooting Tournament on the Dayton International Airport grounds after 81 years. He wrote two books about the event that drew thousands of competitors throughout the country and generated more than $1 million to the local economy during its annual 12-day run."
My condolences to the Morris family. Over the years Jim has been a very good friend and he was a very good trapshooting reporter. I also enjoyed his books and his articles in the Dayton Paper. I will miss Jim. Dave Berlet
Vandalia gets farther away in the rear view mirror. Jim's book is a must for shooter's interested in trap shooting history at the grand. So long Jim. Brad
