Jaqua’s not in Sparta and moving into another building.

Jaquas will not be in Sparta this year. They are moving into their new building shortly in Findlay. If someone in the know has that new address please post it. When was the last time Jaquas was not at the grand?

If I recall correctly they skipped they skipped the Ohio State shoot. Last year at Grand in talking to them, 80% of their sales are online now.

 

They were at Ohio.

 

I forget the address but they are moving to the south side of town off I75.

 

Talked to a shooter some years back that went to the Grand.
He said that one of the employees told him it was hardly worth going when you figure in expenses and travel time.

Did Sparta lease those buildings or do the VENDORS OWN THEM, I can not remember those details, but it was quite an Investment that was required, If I remember right the VENDORS had to have a building, and no TENTS, that's what they did in Vandalia a few years before it closed, The ATA lied then about NO TENT VENDORS would be allowed. The ATA speaks through a FORKED TONGUE like a snake.

Vendors do not own the buildings, they are leased. Permanent buildings are on the west fields. There are tent/trailer vendors on the east fields during the Grand.

 

Just talked to Jason at Jaquas, they will not be in new building till 1st of October.

Below are the page 2's of two separate 15+ page lease agreements initially granted by the IDNR for a 20ft x 40ft and a 40ft x 40ft building back around the time the WSRC opened (2006). The prices are included.

Those costs seem reasonable to me. After all, the place holds the biggest Trap shoot in the world. Thousand upon thousands attend. The vendors row is packed. People are shoulder to shoulder purchasing mass quantities of goods.

On the big day they get almost four thousand shooters competing in just that one event.

We? What's with the WE sidney? Are you speaking for everyone or just you and that one other short yardage guy that lives close to that place?
Someday both of you will be able to say you don't miss the "grand" when the state closes the place once and for all.


BTW, Hi-Grade might not be there either.

What also gets larger is the number of fishing posts he puts up. Still sub par but he does try. Just like that shoot he tries to promote.

I do not recall if it was last year or the year before when Sparta (WSRC) had the absolute biggest turn out they ever had with 15,000 shooters in the camping area (all, 1,000 spots) and another 15,000 in and around the general area to the point some had to camp out under some over passes in the area because there were no additional rooms to be found ... They had 2003 shooters stay and shoot the biggest little handicap event of the year (grand American) ... Walmart ordered extra trailers of food, ammo, clothes, boots etc for the over abundance of customers and the place was headed in a Fantastic Direction according to the local news and Television stations, The Governor (Rauner ) at the time stopped by and got a few freebies and some good will sucking up from the locals who never realized they had a Governor until they got to see him ... Leaps and Bounds they said, this place will make the State a Fortune (finally) and life will be good and Sparta will be on the Map again ... The newly elected Governor was asked if he was going to stop by and he just asked why, whats in it for me and would Sparta Sid be there, he was told Sparta Sid was like a disease kind of on the order of Herpes, once you get it, you got it ... Enjoy ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Speak for yourself Sid, more will miss it than won't. Hell before long they can rent the Vendors buildings out for people to sleep in. Vendors aren't going where there is nobody to buy their goods.

They thought their hero, the garage gunsmith, was the best but I shut him up the first time he came on our site and tried to be funny so this guy and #2 sparta will be a snap.
