Besides making great bourbon, great race horses-Kentucky knocks out some great trap shooters D- shooter-runs a 99--a lot of 100's-- for a relatively--small state shoot Maybe if I grew up in Kentucky or drank bourbon instead of scotch--could have been a much better shooter
It is "the water" ..... the ATA Kool Aid flavored water those running ATA shoots are drinking ..... It doesn't take a "hate the ATA site" for the attendance numbers to show many are not interested in large shoots now, knowing the current scores required to be anything other than a squad filler ..... Can a lower class shooter crank out a good score, sure ..... in every event at all larger shoots, no ..... Go back to requiring x-number of targets to qualify for anything under A-Class ..... then, if you have 15 scores that average a 79 and break a 99, you get the score reviewed before you win anything, and will most likely get disqualified not rewarded ..... "Back in the day" Trapshooters were very good at self-policing the Sport ..... Now, it is much easier to stay home than fight a losing battle with those drinking the "fantastic direction" Kool Aid .....
