Here's a Really BEEG Hypothetical Question for all you conspiracy theorists out there. Let's say that the Pacific International Trapshooting Association(PITA) wants to have their Inaugural Mid-America Shoot and they get in touch with the NEW Manager of the WSRC to schedule the event. They want for the event to take place between October 21, 2020 and October 31, 2020. Appropriate time is allowed for the necessary setup and tear down. PITA makes their reservation, a contract with the State of Illinois is drawn up and executed, and the event is added to the Calendar of Events. A few days after PITA and Illinois have signed the contract, L. Gipson calls the NEW Manager of the WSRC and states that he wants to schedule a new event called the "Fall Classic" which he wants to run from October 24, 2020 to October 29, 2020. He states that ATA needs these dates because of other scheduling conflicts. He further states that the event is viewed by the ATA EC as a potential "breakthrough" event which could be very important to the future of the ATA. I'm puzzled. What will the NEW Manager do?
The facility is large enough to run both those hypothetical shoots at the same time. I believe both organizations allow cross registering of targets (for a fee of course) so it could benefit both associations to hold the events simultaneously. The real issue would be finding trap help at the end of October when the high school and college students are back in class.
And if the PITA/WSRC contract had provided for sole private use, as would probably be the case, of the facility during those dates, what then? Is it possible that PITA and ATA are a little bit like "oil and water?"
