I don't get it. Why don't the Illinois shooters support the Grand. So far there have only been 450 Illinois shooters classified. That does not mean they shot. 450 classified got attendance pins.

If the Grand was in Ohio how many would have been classified from Ohio or PA?

They don't support it because they are protesting its location, to far from the real world, if there wasn't a WalMart in town even those who live there would leave ... Typical little boon dock town that would be great for someone to retire to, be kind of like dropping off the face of the earth in many ways (Off the Grid, but with water and bathrooms ) ... If the shoot (grand) was moved to a more shooter friendly location they would probably double or triple the attendance, make a Wal Mart close by part of the due diligence ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I don't think Ohio would have near the shooters they did when the grand left. All the states including Ohio and Pa have shed a lot of ATA members in 14 years.

The Cardinal Center has grown and been more or less accepted as a grand for many shooters who will not travel to Sparta, Ill ... If the grand moved to the Cardinal Center most may or may not accept it but I doubt the following the Cardinal Center has established will change much ... I thought I was wrong once before but I was mistaken ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Brad, Many have left because of the poor management, of the same idiots that moved the association to Sparta. Many have not quit shooting, they have just given up on registered trap. To many poor moves and also not letting the members have no say in the direction of the ATA. Roger C.

I’d love to see the grand at the Cardinal, but it would need to be expanded. I’m not sure the trap line could fit all of the shooters in its current setup to get three events in per day. Plus the exit ramp from I-71 would need to be expanded to contain the traffic from the people who can’t get a campsite. There going to be enough of a traffic issue with the new warehouse.

JAMES, I would rather see the CC stay just the way it is. If the Grand were moved to Ohio the a$$ holes that are in charge of the ATA would have a good chance to ruin the CC, just like they did with the move to Sparta. They should never be allowed on the grounds as any thing but shooters. We know from experience that they can not manage a business.
If they were allowed to move the grounds, they should be made to reinstate letting the life members have a say in the operations of the association. Take away their use of the need to know bull $hit. Make it a volunteer association again, get the free loaders out of the loop. Look at the mess the ex EC members made with the HOF building, I say volunteer, do the job you ask for, go back to being a shooter with dignity. Roger C.

The move to Sparta was out of desperation and not wanting to not have a grand for a year or two to find a select and logical location that filled the bill the ATA spent a lot of money to break down and fit all of the due diligence (requirements) of the association as well as membership ... Cardinal Center has a very good established reputation they built over time, the State of Illinois and WSRC not so much and the location eliminated many shooters from making that trip for one reason or another ... I do not know why they stay in Illinois other than no other club would give them free rein and let them Micro manage any shoot at other facilities ... The ED, EC, and BOD do not do the physical labor of getting the grounds ready for a shoot, they give directions and play big shots and make demands ... New business's take 2 / 3 years to get established to a point, if they do not by then its probably time to move on for the betterment of the business and in this case the membership ... I cannot imagine any facility being operated by the ATA after the sad showing they have made and continued making over the years ... It will be interesting to see what and if anything happens, and where .... WPT ... (YAC) ...

They tried and were sent packing. A much smarter man owns Cardinal Center.
