How about a 100 bird shoot where the first trap is shot with 410 . Trap 2 with 28 ga. Trap 3 with 20 ga. Trap 4 with 12 ga .. What do you think?

    Two problems-

1). How many trap shooters have sub gauge guns?

2). Have you tried to find any .410 ammo lately?

Maybe a doubles , handicap league instead. It would be 25 pair then pick the yardage for the night out of a hat. A wobble ticket would also be in the hat . If wobble were picked you make another pick for yardage so you could be shooting 27 yd wobble that night . Run for six weeks cost $20/ WK . $5 would go to prizes.

If your club has a combo field shoot trap from the skeet stations, can't move till you break a target, the shooter who finishes with the most shells left is the winner--this game is commonly called SKAT or in NC we called it Jap TRap

What is the goal here? Are the shooters at your club bored with regular trap? There’s a lot of options- have a games night- shoot Annie Oakleys and buddies. 5 from the parking lot. Or- you could have a league where everyone shoots a round from the 16-yard line and then their score determines their handicap yardage from the 23-25-yard lines. We have a local league that does that, it does very well.

Shooters just finished up a 16 yd summer league and are bored with 16 yd trap . We are in the process of setting up a 5 stand . Always looking for new ways to keep people interested in shooting. Thanks for your ideas .

After our 16 yard league -We have a step back tournament -25 birds -Shot 0n the 16-18-20 22 and the 25 then move to the next station and shot the 25-22-18-16 and so on.to all five stations - Something different from all 16 yard birds.

We've done similar. We call it "The crazy gun shoot"

Just put something odd and interesting at each station. The shooters move but the guns stay put.

I usually brought my Saiga 12, or the KSG bullpup.
