I am of the opinion this will not change. NO ZONE SHOOT. At this point, I personally am wondering if we will be able to have a state shoot. I am sure the OSTA BOD is very busy with a lot of balls being tossed around. If they are able to have a state shoot maybe they can come up with a way to incorporate the "zone" shoot in with the state shoot. For example, the first day of the state shoot, maybe you change the program to be 200 singles, 100 caps and 100 doubles instead of the normal first day and consider that the zone shoot. It will require some thinking and working out a plan. Based on the rules now, in order to make the 2021 state team, you must shoot all 400 targets at the 2020 zone shoot. so something has got to change. If I hear anything I will post it.

My recommendation was to hold the Zone shoots concurrently with the championship events of either the Karen’s Cup or the Buckeye Open and hold Zone Director elections at the OSTA Hall of Fame building. Unfortunately as this virus problem drags on I just don’t believe we will have any major shoots for some time. The mortality rate of this virus is above 6% worldwide which is crazy high. A large percentage of trapshooters fall into high risk categories due to age, diabetes, obesity, heart conditions, compromised immunity and so on. It’s going to take some time before it will be safe to gather in large numbers again. I absolutely love to shoot, but I’m not willing to sacrifice even one life so I can enjoy my shooting hobby.

God only knows how I am hoping we will get a chance to do some SAFE shooting in the near future. There are a great bunch of guys on the board and I am sure they will come up with as good a solution as possible. The board works very hard to give everyone a fun shoot. If there is any way they can conduct a SAFE shoot, I am sure they will go for it.

    Don,
I don't think holding the zone during Karen's Cup would be right due to the fact that a lot of clubs already have scheduled a shoot over the holiday weekend.
Buckeye if other clubs aren't scheduled.
Directors could change requirements for All Ohio and we could vote for directors during the State Shoot.
