On Tuesday, Gov. Bruce Rauner signed House Bill 4166, which reappropriated funds for some previously-approved road construction and capital projects, but also included two line items in regard to the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta. In total, Rauner approved all but $68.4 million of the $10 billion in statewide projects. “Continued investment in our public infrastructure is critical to economic development,” Rauner wrote in a news release announcing the signing. “We must maintain the infrastructure that has made Illinois a major transportation hub for the world economy. “This bill enhances mobility, helps to maintain our state’s competitive advantage, and supports construction and permanent jobs across Illinois.” Of the WSRC line items, Rauner vetoed one that earmarked $157,045 for “infrastructure improvements” at the WSRC.

Does anyone have any inclination that the governor is going to OK the infrastructure at the WSRC?

There was an article several months ago stating the States Recreational Parks were in need of repairs of issues that were deemed safety concerns in the minimum amount of just over $1 million dollars combined ... The yearly repairs will only get to cost more as time passes because they are ageing and deteriorating more each year ... The earmarked money ($157,045) for the WSRC was to repair road damage and then a issue of growing mold needing to be addressed would obviously add to that amount ... The State being in dire straights does not help, besides the fact they are over $7.5 Billion dollars in the rears on financial obligations not to mention bills for electric services that are over due ... The ATA has a lease and there are serious doubts it will be honored under the conditions stated in it as it is costly for the state and adds to the deficit on an annual basis (over $23 million to date in the past 11 years ) ... There are no easy outs or immediate solutions based on whats being posted on the States web sites, it will be interesting, time will tell ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

The Grand Shoot Program should be out shortly. The program should show the shooting costs for the shooter and should be interesting. What the program will not show is the cost assessed to the ATA for the use of th WSRC by the State of Illinois. ( this is due to the State being broke and to cover the cost of operating for the period of the Grand) This additional cost to the ATA by the State I don't believe will be broadcast by the ATA. This is just my opinion and I have been wrong before but not too many times.

I think you can request all financial reports from the ATA.
Since they are a non-profit organization I believe they have to be available to the public by law.
Contact your state delegate or the ATA directly.
It's worth a phone call or two.

You can bet the EC, ED, and some of the BOD will be there one way or the other, they have nothing to lose and they get funded by the members ... They claim they do it for the "Love of the Game". we all know that is a bunch of BS ... Funny how they can make claims with nothing to support them yet they are taken as if written in concrete ... I am obviously a popular subject on the Kool aid crews agenda, makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
