Lynn Gipson's plea for the manager of the WSRC has fallen on deaf ears. News from Sparta is Monica may be the go to person at the Illinois WSRC. This despite Gipson pointing out that he assumed Monica was there for "non-shooting" activities.

Below is Gipson's corespondance touting Dean Townsend and slighting Monica.

He appears to be saying hiring Monica would be met with "disappointment, puzzlement and skepticism." Cant figure what he is saying. You decide.

The bottom line is all this is still in the works. As it looks now the ATA may soon be saluting Monica...

Note: Again thanks to those that worked hard to relay this information.

I see Townsend's name but who is the other candidate Gipson is writing about?

He assumes Monica is on staff to seek and acquire non-shooting events and would "do so working with EITHER candidate"

WTH is the OTHER candidate he is thinking of?

That is dated 12-17-15, not sure if it is still an issue or applies ... They want Dean so they can control him and that just might not happen with Monica, who seems to have a pretty good handle on this so far ... The WSRC is a business, a person who is educated in running and operating a business can operate any kind of business once they learn the ins and outs of same ...Not all trap shooters can run and or operate a trapshooting club (business) no matter how many targets they have shot at or what position they are in within the ATA ... The ATA wants someone, any one they can get to see things their way and knows how to play the game their way or the way they want it played ... The State of Illinois owns and operates the facility therefore its their call as to who sits at the controls and if anyone does not like it they can move on ... If the State puts Monica in control Lynn Gipson has no choice but to work with her or he will be putting his position as well as the ATA in the bulls eye, not the other way around ... The State of Illinois does not need the ATA to keep adding to their financial woes and deficit but in turn the ATA does need the State of Illinois (WSRC/IDNR) being as they have no place else to go ... First its the "Glock Guy", now its Monica, talk about having some stones and giving his opinion on something that is none of his business, think he let that title go to his head a little bit ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

SO ARE WE GOING TO HAVE A GRAND OR NOT? The little we hear from the ATA about Sparta and the Grand is so sketchy,it sound like wishful thinking. what are we to believe? There is so much conflicting statements that one does not really know what is happening. How in the hell are we to make our plans for going to something that may not happen. Is it time to just make reservations at Cardinal for their fall shoots? Roger C.

The "ATA" pays "Gipson" 136k plus a year ... and he believes "Barry" will increase the "membership", and "Dean" can save the "Complex" ... I guess down-the-tubes is a fantastic direction well worth the 136k plus investment.

Anyone that could turn the "Complex" into a money-maker through "Trapshooting" alone, would be stupid to take what little money the IDNR may offer. That kind of "talent" should be worth millions as a top CEO.

Ironic that Gipson spouts off about having the wrong person at the head. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D;)

His words may be "ironic", but it is asinine that his actions are never being questioned by the Kool Aid Crew.

If the State of Illinois wants to finance his business, playground, and hire his crew, that is on them. But the free pass on drawing a 136k plus paycheck for "40 hours per week" from the membership, to lobby the State of Illinois for his business, playground, and employment for his crew is too far over the top.

The State of Illinois is obviously not impressed with the performance of the EC, the ATA and all of the claims made initially ... It would have to be quite obvious to them ( the State) that the reason the ATA, ED would want a certain someone in a certain position would be because it would be to their benefit and not the States ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

$136,000 is too much money to manage the WRSC, It takes no degree, just good business relationship. Dean Townsand has and always will be a ATA Yes man.
The ATA Handicap Committee should have been a rolling of members every 4 years. Being a School Teacher is not a Qualification for the WSRC Position. Ang Lynn Gipson managing a Facility that he has Business relations, is also unacceptable. He has gun sales there, a part owner of a Shot Reclaiming Business which should have been reason enough for his departure long ago.. When he got that position of being a construction Supt. there, it stunk to high heaven. And then steering and ATA yes man, and encouraging his acceptance was another ODOR. There are so many other qualified people that have a better Qualification Level and at half the cost.

The ATA Stomped on Mr. Rively for being with held from an Executive meeting, which he absolutely should have been involved in. There is a long story of what he learned from the ATA Staff, I am not going into it, and most of you already knew what that was all about.
