I'm at the Hard Rock Guitar hotel/casino in Lauderdale until Sunday. About 20 minutes to the sand but have the news on when we are not at the pool ( 83 degrees yesterday) or in the casino. The beaches ARE closed but the kids coming down due to the school closures don't really care. Since they hear it is only really dangerous for us older people they figure they don't have anything to worry about. Word down here is the governor will use the guard to enforce the new rule if he has to. All they have to do is tell them that booze makes someone really vulnerable and they'll go home. This place is owned by the Seminole tribe. They have shut some slots down to space out the seating and the restaurants have the seating set up so there isn't a table being used next to yours. They laid some people off but must have hired extra help just to clean. They are everywhere I guess the Seminole tribe told the white man to get off the reservation.
There ARE a few scary things going on here I don't drink so the first one doesn't have an impact but I can't walk around with my eyes closed so some of the sights in the the second picture are pretty unnerving
Gov DeSanto just said ''Parties over''. Beaches closed. Now what to do with all that locked up Testosterone?
3/20/20, 11:15 AM As of 8:57 PM on 3/19/20 the headline on the first thing that pops up when you google FL beach closings is the governor said NO beaches will be closed. They will have people dispersing any large crowds but will allow small gatherings as long as one group is far enough away from the other. He is a republican governor The demorats and CNN are about to have a baby over this. Me thinks the gov just gave the dems the finger Bottom line? They all know they don't have enough people to enforce it. They might be able to watch one beach but FL has a LOT of sand The "kids" are going to get together in large groups and hopefully none of them get sick Now, the way things are going down here that could have changed after 9:00PM but I didn't see anything yet today
