2 of our local shooting gurus disagree on whether your elbows should be parallel to the ground. I would like my kids learning proper technique.

    Help please.

I have known this for years, it keeps your head in the gun, and a snug hug, for better control, it takes some practice to get it to work, but once you have it, you got it for life. It adds perfection to Trapshooting, w/good gun fit.

Most good shooters want at least an 80/20+ POI. When you get quick target recognition, you want and need a higher POI.

    I shoot 18" POI at 35 yards.

I'm right handed shooter and like to raise my rt elbow high enough where i feel the stock snug to my cheek. It locks the gun in place. Try it at home. First hold gun with rt elbow down, then start raising elbow and see if stock presses on cheek as elbow goes up. Then when shooting have him keep gun on cheek until he sees the target break apart when he hits it over barrel. This will help him not to lift head off of stock when shooting. This is one of the things that put me on the 27/AA within my first 7 months of shooting. Only reason I mention the 27/AA thing is that I hope it gives credibility to what I say. But a lay off of over 30 years and health problems, just wish i could even hit the barn door now lol, but getting better and more importantly new friends I have made.
Wish the kids best of luck.
