I see a lot of shooters holding the butt stock and reaching around and opening the gun and letting the barrel/barrels fall. This not only abuses the gun, but can break the stock. I have seen 2 "stock locks" break the main bolt joining the butt stock ( boot) to the grip causing the butt stock to fall on the ground. A pro soft stock crack the grip and break in half. These types of stocks are basically a two piece stock, a grip and a butt stock, and when the barrel falls, it is causing a lot of stress where the grip and stock come together. A traditional stock can handle the stress more easily as it is stronger in the grip. Open and close your gun...it is much better than letting the barrels fall and slamming it shut..
