Curious; Will Beretta 688 wood fit older 680 series guns?

    Has anyone tried? It is my understanding that 680 series barrels will mount on 688 guns. Has anyone who owns both guns tried their 688 wood on a 680 series gun? I have a little project gun in mind. And yes, I contacted Coles. Gentleman I spoke with didn't sound very confident of his own answers. Thanks in advance. Good shooting, Rey
