Outside sources say that the O model refers to the basic Government model with a 5" barrel????

i was wrong. officer model is compact 4" bbl 5 round mag.

mike, its interesting to hear your 1911a1 govt comes with a NM bbl. normally NM bbls come on NM guns.
is the box marked NM anywhere and can you see if the gun has a NM marked bbl bushing? the 2 normally go together for accuracy.
