New member here, getting back into the Trap game, Still shooting my 35 year old Rem 1100 but thinking about picking up an OU

Just discovered a Trap club located 15 minutes from my home that I, nor any of my friends, ever knew existed ! I can't wait for this Covid thing to be done with so I can join !

Not in a position for anything of true quality (just got two kids through college and now have a wedding to deal with)
Like to find something in the $500 range. Was looking at gently used and stumbled on a deal on this ATI Cavalry brand new

What's the popular opinion of these imported guns, is a new ATI worth $500, or should I keep looking for a deal on used ??

Since we had a little tech trouble my post never made it so I'll try again. I believe there was another answer that also never made it.

One of our members posted, Keep the 1100. I would agree.

I know I read that you thought the "rail" on the 1100 looked like it was getting "thin".

If by "rail" you mean the action bar you can get one for a $100 or less. Shoot the old one until it breaks then shop or, if you are that concerned with the old one, buy one now and install it. DIY no problem. Spend the rest of that $500 on shells.

BTW, what makes you think the old one looks "thin"?

I'm never parting with my 1100, ever, I love that gun, it loves me (ever have one that just fit you perfectly?)
I have simply shot the living blankety blank out of it over the past 30 + years and I'd like to ease down a bit on it's use to preserve it's life. Joining a trap club is going to be more shooting than I'd like to do with it. The goal is to preserve it for hunting.

Yeah, around 30 of them in the last 40+ years.

They all fit until you find one you think will get you one more target!:D
