    Hi fellow shooters,

I have a question with regards to A SLUG GUN 20ga build.

In the area I deer hunt in Iowa Slugs are required or straight walled rifles are allowed.
I have looked for a slug barrel for my shotgun and got a zero

So what I want to do is get a Stevens 555 20ga and mount a scope on it. WHY?
It is a 3in chamber, it has chokes to allow for a rifled choke tube, and you don't have a hammer to deal with.

    What do you think?

Buy A 450 Bushmaster instead of a OU 20 ga. BUT if you want a shotgun get a Savage 220 bolt. Very good deer shotgun.

There are 20 gauge slug barrels on Ebay right now.

Agreed- Savage 220 20-gauge is the best there is for a factory slug gun, but any straight walled rifle that’s legal would be better to me. I can’t remember what IA’s requirements are but the .450 Bushmaster would not be a bad choice at all. I’m partial to bolt guns, too.
