I was looking at the shooter information center on the ATA website and noticed something unusual about your handicap scores. In 1978 you shot at 11,600 handicap targets and broke 71.64 percent of them. With the exception of the 1978 target year, your handicap average was 90 plus percent every year from 1976 to 2011. 34 years at 90 plus percent is quite an accomplishment considering you shot at a total of 190,950 handicap during those 34 years. I was just curious on what happened in 1978.

    Thanks again.

Fat fingered typist at the ata?

Probably should have been a 9 instead of a 7?

Somebody said that 1978 was the year he used his Remington Model 12 instead of his Winchester Model 12.

I was proud to be on the ATA Men's First All American Team that year too even with that lower than normal average. I also won about 50 honorary yards that year and a little coin of the realm.

The real scoop is Flyer's is probably right, my average was 91.64 so I'd guess a typo.

My own thoughts on why is because I predicted the Sparta mess from the git go and I was probably taxed 20 points of my average and it went to one of Gibson's or Bradford's cronies. I'd imagine they got a good sum of money for them too or another possibility is those 20 points could have be misplaced like those trap machines were when the move from Vandalia to Illinois happened.

We really need the virus N1H1 more than ever today for a graph on this subject. Maybe instead of me worrying about Punkin Flock's safety I should look after myself. I would ask my delegate about this but it's probably on a need to know basis only.

    A typo? Probably

My first thought was that the person doing the typing was someone that drove a motor home to Vandalia, shot a high end gun, and lost a shoot off to the kid with the Model 12.

Either that or Leo knew the typist and it was a hell of a practical joke. :D
