I feel these shells are far superior to the Remington Nitro 27s, They pattern the best in my gun, the speed is unbelievable and I see why top shooters use them. In big Buddy Shoots I use them for 1st and 2nd shot. In sporting clays they are the berries. What amazes me is the tight patterns they throw in a full choke trapgun. I see a lot of buddy shooters using them, and kicking the hulls on the ground so I can pick them up. I do wish Winchester would go back to their old Plastic Formula, like they used in the 1970s, them maybe they could regain sales w/better reloadability. I am glad to get 4 reloads out of them, where I used to get 8-9 out of them. Dr.longshot
I have shot both shells you mentioned. I prefer the Remington because of the lower perceived recoil. With that being said I have shot good scores with both. I agree with you about changing the formula for better reliability and to get a better reload count.
I don't know why but I get a head ache if I shoot the AA's and do not get one with the Nitro's ...I like the way targets break with the Nitro's compared to the AA's but that might not be the shell as much as it being me and my lacking the confidence in them ... Both shells are good just not as good for me ... wpt ... (yac)
Doc, please don't let Harlan Campbell in on your little discovery. He has averaged 95+ on the last 80,000 handicap targets with those inferior Remington Nitro shells. Say, how many targets could a person expect to increase their average using the Super Handicap ammo?
Jo2 ,Harlan : Knows his shells and shoots those Nitro-27s Extremely well. I would say better than anybody. Jo2: You know that is an absolutely unknown expectation, You buy them for me and I will show what they will do for me, they took care of the challenge at the Cardinal Center against Big Don.
Do you guys remember the old AA red paper super targets shells, those shells shot pretty good to and would break targets hard.
Great shells. Good breaks on the ones I hit but MAN, they sure didn't smell as good as the Fed. papers. Flyersarebest
Their speed is quite believable, in fact for waterfowlers it is very slow. Good that they pattern well in your gun/choke combination. You want a killer commercial load for second shots in a Buddy and for the 2nd/3rd shot in a 27 yard Knockout/Annie? I'll let you in on a little secret: Remington's STS12P7.
