Hi guys, A friend showed up at the club with a lovely 16 ga. A. Greener hammer gun from Belgium last week. He knew I dabbled with old Dbl Bbl guns, and asked what I knew about this gun. Age, Worth, Etc. Well, it isn't a WW. Greener made in England, and I got investigating on the net. My guess is it's an early hardware gun import from Belgium. Says "Laminated" on the rib. Can any of you fellows tell me anything about this gun ? I cannot find much through the Google search. Thanks !
I once shot with and old fellow that had a Geener or Martini SB trap gun. It was a beauty, the only one I've ever seen. I've always wanted one ever since, but never found one for sale.
An old friend collected these hammer guns years ago. He said many were sold by Hardware stores with various names that were imported by Folsom Arms Co. You probably already know this but just in case. Regards.....Gerald
Gerald, Good info, thanks ! I didn't know Folsom Arms were the importers of these. This is a beauty that the fellow has, and I just cannot put anything together about the 16 gauge. Thanks again
There was one available locally recently. Was told it was a Detwiler conversion. I shot it once. Nice looking gun. Weighed about 6 1/2 pounds. Not something for a 100 bird event. I will see if its still available..
