The locking bolt angle of the earlier serial numbers were 10 degrees. I think this was up until around 2600 or so. Then they changed to 8 degrees. The problem was after 20,000 rounds or so the top lever would flip and possibly open the breech when shot, if the return springs became weak. Usually a top lever return spring replacement would fix that until it became weak again. The update changed the angle to 8 degrees on the bolt, and the barrel lug.

The forend latch update was if the latch broke, or became very hard to latch to, or release from the lug. This update was more for preventative measure. If it has been shot somewhat and has not caused a problem yet, more than likely it won't need the updated latch. If updated you will see a half circle silver piece inside from the top of the forend iron where the latch is seen.

Where would be the best place to send a 90-t for the updates? does Kolar do this?

Good question Chris. Now that Doug Braker is not available, I don't know who to recommend but might need work on my 90T as well.
