FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ELYSBURG, PA The Executive Committee of the PA State Shotgunning Association (PSSA) is pleased to announce that the Colonial Classic/PA State shoot will be held as planned on June 13-21, 2020. Due to concerns over continuing health issues there will be modifications to certain practices to help protect employees, shooters, vendors, and all who chose to attend. All then current guidelines and regulations will be observed. Since many of these practices are evolving, regular updates will be posted on the PSSA website and Face book. It is understood that some may choose not to attend, due to continuing concerns, and we appreciate your support and hope to see you at a future PSSA event. Let’s all hope we have great weather and good shooting!
2020 PA State Shoot To help reduce the crowds on the front porch & inside the State House, early classification, squadding & cashiering will be open Friday, June 12 from 12pm to 8pm. Please practice social distancing and limit your time in and around the State House. All other current guidelines in place will be followed. ADDED: PLEASE CONSIDER PRESQUADDING ONLINE AT rjstuart.com. It's quick, easy & painless. Online presquadding is the only means of receiving an email confirmation of your squad, bank & post assignment & highly recommended. ALSO ADDED: To lessen the crowds at the Classification windows, shooters can email Don Neilson at dneilson@pssashotgunning.org. Please provide your full name, ATA #, averages for sng/hdc/dbl and Special Category if applicable. As well as what class you feel you should be based on the 6 class system. We will also have Bank 6 open for practice. Tickets can be purchased on the front porch from 12pm to 8pm. Also, any previously purchased practice paper tickets can be turned in and applied to the new practice system.
This is exciting. Now I'll be able to get bank 3 with my family all week if I pre-squad today. I suggest everyone request the chosen one's banks 2 and 3 and I'm sure you'll get lucky-then again-probably not! At least make the journey up there and see the same squads who've been shooting only those banks for decades.
Romer has it that they are not giving out any trophies for this shoot. Some shells I paper to shoot at a later shoot. I must have missed the announcements concerning NO TROPHIES.
Family Guy, as the most prolific reporter in trap shooting you were at this shoot and are posting pictures, didn't you know about trophies or lack there of? Did the ATA send the Championship Trophies? No trophies are even worse than flashlights to me. I remember some bitching about the Cardinal Center a few years back. Butch maybe this is just the latest thing for ATA shooting instead of a ribbon for everyone. Points, points, points. A fantastic direction.
Update on the trophies: Frank Pascoe donated some of his medals for trophies for the last days of the State Shoot. Be sure to thank Frank for the metals.
