Terry, Best of luck old friend. Please don't hurry so shoot, I was just told 8 weeks for me. And when Nancy tells you to take it easy, LISTEN to her please. We want to see you back here in Florida when this Virus stuff get's over. Prayers headed your way ! Dave and Judy Sure had a wonderful time when you and Nancy stayed with us. We miss you folks !
Thanks I am worried and your thoughts and prayers help a lot. One of my customers wished me well yesterday. He said his daughter is a Dr. At a Pennsylvania she said they are booking a new Covid patient every hour. It is a year we will never forget. Stay Safe and God Bless.
Terry, get well soon. Been down that road, do what the doc says and after my first one, I learned a new word that I didn't use much.........NO. Learn to relax and take things easy, and when you feel better, do the cardiac rehab, seeing the "old farts" exercise gives you hope! Take care, Steve
Hang in there Terry. Listen to the doctors and do your rehab. We just want you to know that Nancy and you are in our thoughts and prayers and that we will see you two next spring at the Buckeye with the virus and health issues all behind us. Dave Sandy and Dirk Also I just want to tell you that so far my new knee is doing well and yesterday mourning Dirk and I went pheasant hunting up at Brads. I was able to walk for a couple of hours, even managed to hit a couple of birds. Dave Berlet

I can't drive for a month or so. My daughter is Group home worker almost a nurse she will have me eating right.
Great news Terry !!! As one who knows, just take your time, don't hurry to recover, and LISTEN to your Doctors, and NANCY ! God Bless, and let's have a very Merry Christmas, as this is one special one for a lot of us. Dave
Hey Terry ! Looking for an update. How are you doing old friend ? Hope things are going well. Hi to Nancy !
Hi Dave. I feel ok. now and was never really sore at all. They did a triple bypass and say all of the bad arteries are fixed. The first 3 days I was on a strong drug called Delauted (sp) it never made you feel bonked or any of the pain. Fluid does build up in your lungs from being on a breathing tube during the operation. Your lungs get a gurgling sound and you have to cough up the flem. Coughing is not fun it does hurt, they have you hold a rolled up towel over the cut and put pressure on it as you cough. I had a couple sneezes they are awful, a nice sharp pain that scares the crap out of you. No shooting for 3 months, no driving for over a month. Thanks. Terry.
Terry, They gave me a pillow to hold my guts together when I coughed. It helped a lot. I was on that Delauted (sp) stuff also for a couple of days, but really didn't need it. I had tubes in my nose, down my throat, and sticking out of my guts everywhere with suction bulbs on them to keep me cleared out. Good God, I looked like something from out of the deep sea with all the IVs and tubes coming in and out of me. LOL I got told this past week NOT to even think about picking up my gun until after the beginning of the year. I guess I was a lot worse off than what I thought. The surgeons are beginning to tell me just how close I came to checking out because I was too damned tough to admit I had pains, and if I hadn't caved in after those 4 days and gone to see the Doctor, I wouldn't be here to say HI ! You can bet I will never say "It's just gas" again !!! For over two years I kept saying that, and I laid in two different hospitals down here for 16 days wondering why I was so 'tough". One nurse put it bluntly...Some of you guys are just STUPID. I agreed with her. Yep, that was me ! Let that be a lesson to all of you guys !!!!!!!!! Getting better every day though. NOW, you do the same Terry, and maybe by next year we can meet up again. Good to hear from you !!! Dave
I was in my Doctors office, she asked how I felt .. Told her I feel like I am dying, ordered a EKG, some other test, and blood work (STAT) , blew the valve out bowling Monday night, this was Weds, no sleep or laying down since Monday night ... Told me I am going to the Hospital, she called an Ambulance, told her my wife can have me there before the E Squad can get there ... Left her office at 4:30 PM, was in Surgery at 5:15 which took little over 8 hours ... Did 4 by passes and a Maize (cut the heart open and clean it out, then back together again ) ... I also got a decubitus ulcer on my tail bone that almost killed me ( cut out a chunk big enough for a coke or pepsi can to fit in ) ... If it would of got to the bone I would of died from the infection ... I was in the hospital for 23 days, lost 40 pounds and didn't think I was going to live to walk out of there ... Oct 5, 2011 is a day I will never forget so help me God ... I didn't do the cardiac rehab which was a major mistake but I just wanted out of there ... I'm not sure if I will ever recover completely but I am still alive and breathing so I deal with it the best I can on a day to day basis ... Been on the edge before but a lot closer to it this time according to my Doctor and the Surgeon ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
This is starting to sound like a Gawddam Pity Party! Say, you sissies want some cheese with that whine? (he-he-he-he-he-he-ha-ha-ha-ha-ho-ho-HO-HO-HO-) It's a good thing y'all made it. This place would awful boring with you!
Thanky kindly Phantom Guess we old codgers just don't want you youngsters to go through what we old guys have done. Just pay attention to our life's lessons, and don't put things off. Merry Christmas to all !
I apologize for my typo above. The last sentence was supposed to say, "This place would be awful boring WITHOUT you." I sure am glad you guys, and for that matter all the others who have gone through bad times(and there are many), were able to pull through. Besides, St. Peter would take one look at you pikers and laugh you right back to where you belong!
I had a routine Colonoscopy that almost killed me after the Heart incident ... The routine now I guess is to poke a hole in it so you can become septic and die from that ... I kind of figure Heaven don't want me and Hell is afraid I am going to take over, having been dead 3 times ( Clinically) it makes you stop and think ... People wonder why I avoid going to the Doctor on a regular basis, afraid they want to do something else ... Carved up Christmas Goose ain't got nothing on me, I been cut from A-- Hole to appetite so many times I get nervous around a steak knife ... Merry Christmas ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
