Very clean Remington 12ga comp single shot trap gun around 5500 made in the 80s. Ordered one when they first came out Remington was back ordered never did receive, saw this one about 10 years ago and purchased it just because it was a novel trap gun. Only shot a few rounds through it, shows little use. $595.00 -$25.00 shipping.

Can you send me a few pics of both sides of the stock? Just want to see how nice the wood is before I commit.

What looks to be dings/scratches are just the way the camera shows the pictures. There are a couple very, very slight handling marks that don't show up in the pictures. Checkering very crisp does not even show oil in the checkered areas.

Is the stock cut? Does the recoil pad fit or is it just the pics?

Gun was very poorly represented. Stock was supposed to be all original. Does not appear to be cut, however recoil pad does indeed fit very poorly after being promised stock was all original via PM. Trigger guard looks to be caught in a vise on all sides. Numerous scratches and dents on stock and forend. Scratches down sides of receiver. Bluing worn off mag tube.

This was absolutely not a gun that was only shot a few rounds.

It’s not worth my time to box back up and return to sender as he clearly stated his impression of the gun. When he gets it back, it will be in the same poor condition as it is now.

I’ve purchased numerous guns on the net and this is the most poorly represented firearm of them all.

Buyer beware when dealing with Joe Scout.

He should have mentioned the trigger guard, that would bother me two. if you keep it,put some tape around the stock at the back of the pad and sand it with about 150 grit sand paper. It might take you a little elbow work but you can take it down without messing up the wood.

Hey guys pictures were posted of every angle they show the aluminium painted trigger, probably scratched from someone taking it in and out of a gun case also shows the butt pad never paid attention to whether it was original or not that's why the pictures, your call. I've only seen pictures of 870 comp bought this one because it was unusual. Tried to buy one when they first came out in the 80s. For a 30 plus year old gun this is in excellent condition. See pictures ! Might try an auction site for one that is nicer. Since I started buying and selling (1998 ) on TS or AT this is the first I ever had a situation like this arise. Dont know what the problem is I immediately offered a full refund plus to pay return shipping.
This easily could been resolved with a person to person phone call for $575.00 it wasn't worth the trip to FEDEX.

Joe Scout is a good, respected seller on this
And other sites. He would never purposely
Mis represent anything, let alone a posted
    Firearm.

    Tks, for the kind words.

If one was to read my ad is says exactly how this gun was represented - see the posts the purchaser made his own assumptions - I needed to say in 10 years I only shot the gun a few times. When I was asked to show more pictures of the stocks I did ! I would have thought the pictures clearly represented the condition of the gun. My handle has been JoeScout for 21 years sold dozens of guns from my 50 years of collecting never had an issue.

Joe, thanks for the phone call. I stand firm that this gun was no where near represented. As a buyer of a significant number of firearms on both TS and AT, this was the most poorly represented firearm I have ever purchased. I’ve never publicly posted an issue with a firearm and for the $ that’s invested, it’s really not worth my time finding a box, packing it up and sending it back. I’ll keep the gun and appreciate you offering a refund. Shows that you are a stand up guy. It was MY fault for assuming when I asked if a stock was original for not looking at the pictures closer to verify that it was an aftermarket poorly fitted pad. From what the gunsmith (FFL) said it was securely packaged and the issues don’t appear to be from a shipping related issue. As far as I’m concerned, the matter is closed and do sincerely appreciate your willingness to refund the money.

Thanks, Eric. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Would you consider $100.00 refund to get the trigger repainted and the butt pad fitted ? My reputation is worth more than $575.00. I've sold Parkers, Perazzis, model 21s for ten times the price of this gun never had a problem. I just want to get you whole, there is a point where I should be able to make you pleased with your purchase. PM me if you wish.

    Thanks again,

    Joe
