I think that any shooting, hunting, or firearm business that has been ordered shut down by a tyrannical governor, that wanted to stay open, should refuse to pay their property tax for that time they were shut down.

Many small privately owned gun stores and shooting ranges have very high property taxes, I know, and the government that is forcing them to shut is in fact making that high tax property value worthless during their forced shutdown. Just like some car insurance companies are rebating car premiums the governments need to rebate real estate taxes for the time they have made your real estate in fact worthless.

The government health experts and elected officials and employees all say "we're all in this together' but they mean us and not them. They still get paid, they still collect property taxes THEY STILL GIVE ORDERS. I'd think that maybe a little tax rebellion is over due.

If your governor wants to shut you down quit paying them, it only seems fair, use your constitutional rights other the the 2nd amendment.

If you don't own the property, LIKE THE ATA AT SPARTA and are a renter and at the whims of a socialist governor then I'd say you are out of luck. If you'r the Cardinal Center or a member owned rifle and pistol club on the other hand, and they told you no shooting and no camping, I say no taxes either.

I'd think bars and restaurants would be able to make the same case too but this is a trap shooting web page so good luck to them

One of Thorn Bottom members that works for the Ohio EPA has been working from home since mid March. He has to pay Bowling Green City income tax and he is trying to get out of that city tax because he isn't working in the city anymore.

I saw the gov of New York was going to make any out of state health worker that volunteered and came to New York City pay state income tax if they were in NY for 2 weeks or more, state law he said. I'd think all the New York City people that are working from home in Conn and NJ should not pay New York Income Tax for that time. Fair is Fair I say.

  3. Brad, The employees that are working from home, should be getting tax allowances for heat, water, electric, taxes, space rent, security, as if they are self employed. A good accountant will ask these questions. I once bought a very nice Rem 700vls in 22.250, ammo, 6-18 Leopold, bi pod, for varmint control here on my 5 acre "farm" for pest control. Accountant said I cant every year but that year was nice!.
